Kayne visits Arthur to check in on how the Blackstone is going. It isn't. Arthur is very busy with being drugged by Horig. Kayne is also slightly being drugged by Horig and also just the general effects being in this dimension has on him.
He's trying to ask Arthur about the Blackstone and he's getting nothing. Something about a train. He's having a hard time paying attention. John's the most aware of the three of them.
Arthur's still really antsy from the drugs and with nothing to follow so he's just walking. He considers taking Kayne over to the lights but he isn't sure where those are anymore. And this direction seems nice.
Arthur's rambling about trains and owls and that one horrific violent thing he did as a child and Kayne would really like to go back to that last one but Arthur's talking about owls again. Kayne's trying to steer the conversation to the Blackstone and how that's going but Arthur just isn't going to do that. He's giggling every time he refuses to answer which Kayne just has to pinch his cheeks about and now Arthur's being all touchy back to him and they're both having a time of it.
Cut to Arthur tripping over something and Kayne falling over with him because they're holding hands now and neither of them has any sense of balance. It's nearly morning and Arthur's starting to get his head cleared. He's developing a cough.
Which confuses Kayne because he's not supposed to do that. He's never seen an Arthur Lester sick. He didn't know they could do that. Since when could he do that? And he's questioning Arthur about how this happened and Arthur tells him about Horig and Kayne's loopiness makes much more sense now that he can't just blame it on this dimension.
He says Arthur should swear fealty to him instead. Arthur says he can't possibly because he's already sworn fealty to Horig. Kayne argues that he basically already swore fealty to him first and also don't forget about John, that's also fealty. And Arthur says they're partners and Kayne says yeah right sure and suggests murdering Horig so Arthur can swear fealty to him.
Kayne kills Horig very violently in front of Arthur which sobers him up the rest of the way and also gets rid of his very persistent cough. Arthur collapses from exhaustion.
When he wakes up Kayne has a whole ceremony planned and it's clear he hasn't slept even though he never sleeps and now Arthur has to deal with someone he hates who is very very not in his right mind. There's a lot of sentence fragments going on here and winces of pain.
Arthur asks why he's still like this if Horig's gone and Kayne explains this dimension sucks and look at what he's prepared for the ceremony. He's even made it more human for Arthur. It is very similar to a wedding.
Arthur tactfully suggests anything else. It's not working.
