that moment after cargyllbowl ends when the surviving twin steps towards rhaenyra and you're not sure whether it's erryk stepping towards the queen he killed a brother to protect or arryk stepping towards the pretender he killed a brother to take down. for a split second you can't tell which of them survived and then you realize it doesn't matter which one he is because actually neither of them survived. they were both already dead.

the parallels between the way the green and black councils treat alicent and rhaenyra between the last episode and the most recent one is so sickening but so good. last episode we saw how alicent, who sought to gain power within a traditionally feminine role, is undermined by the members of her council. in this episode we saw how rhaenyra, who sought to gain power within a traditionally masculine role, is laughed at and treated like a pawn to be maneuvered off-board so her male council members could run the show. and it goes to show that, however you try to gain power, as a woman within a patriarchal system you will never truly be taken seriously by men. these women are ultimately all maneuvering within a patriarchal feudal society and the only way any of them are coming out on top is to dismantle said society entirely (rooting for you dany)

the twins dance is such an interesting event in the books i wasnt sure what they would do with this w all the changes but then ahhhhhhh it was better and worse in the way the show is it hits hard maybe harder in the rewatch both actors really took the cake in that scene quite agonising to watch again tbh and rhaenyra ugh at first i thought okay they’re not in the halls anymore he’s at the door already but then erryk enters and he was on the steps above him! and then the cloak trip and the blow to the shoulder and the dialogue it was everything everything cooked in that scene the false hope of the few seconds even tho he looked well fucked up oh just 🤌🏼😭
