His hands were stuffed into the pocket of his hoodie as he looked down at the body on the floor. Maybe he should have announced his presence before scaring scaring the piss out of Geoff.

The taste of blood was making Ray’s head spin. He couldn’t have lost enough blood for it to be blood loss, but maybe it was the thought of it that was getting to him. He could feel his nose dripping down his face and down the back of his throat, thick as it tried to congeal. It was broken, but he had no idea how badly. His lip was split wide but thankfully, he still had all his teeth. He was achy and sore everywhere else, and his wrists were chafed from being bound with rough rope. It wasn’t as scary as handcuffs, but it hurt more.

Ray cleared his throat, internally cringing when he saw the way blood speckled from his lips.

“Beatin’ some punk kid’s face in is real Captain America of you.”

there was a pause. ray let his nose scrunch up in thought, looking away from his old boss. he huffed quietly, feeling vulnerable all of a sudden. 

“I’M JUST SAYING ---  i’m just saying that i miss working here a little. i do. so... maybe i could come back and just hang out. do an ahwu or something.”
