HOUSEDAY BIRTHWARMING

Greetings, gentlebeans. You* are hereby invited to A PARTY, for the purpose of warming my new flat and celebrating my 30th. I'm moving and getting older within two months of each other and since you only get to be thirty once I thought I'd break with tradition and celebrate it this year.

THE PARTY will be on July 7th, which is a Saturday. This is deliberate because it means I'll have a day to nurse my hangover and eat cake in my underwear afterwards. THE PARTY will formally begin at 6.30 pm with the ritual of gazing longingly at a curry through an oven door. Food will be available from 7 pm. You can come early but I'd like to know if you're planning on it, and you might get handed a dishcloth if I'm still cooking, so consider yourselves warned. Invited. Warnvited. You can also come late if that's your thing, and will be made welcome and given cake.

THE PARTY will formally end at midnight, when the host will transform into a pumpkin.

THE PARTY will be in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, <10 minutes from the train station, bus station and taxi company. The flat (the one we are warming) is reasonably sized but sleeping places are limited, so if you are living within a reasonable distance I'd appreciate it if you planned on going home, just to prioritise crash space for people travelling further. I'm not posting my address on the open internet because that's a terrible idea - message me and I'll tell you where to come. I expect you to not be a dick with my address.

THE PARTY is open invitation subject to RSVP. Partly because I can't fit a hundred people in but mostly because I need to know how much food to make. You can bring a +1 (please include them in your RSVP) but you can't bring +6, unless I know them, in which case they're probably invited anyway and they should message me.

THE PARTY will have hot and cold food. The main dishes and some of the other stuff will be vegan, but if you have more specific dietary needs then please let me know; if I can't cater to you I'll say so and then you'll know to bring something and then everyone will be fed, which is the most important thing.

THE PARTY will have a seal cake. That is, a cake in the shape of a seal, not a cake made out of seals, nor a cake which in being consumed releases an eldritch horror. The seal cake will probably not be vegan. There will be vegan apple cake as well. I like cake.

THE PARTY is alcohol-friendly. Don't get drop-down drunk or I will send you home, for I am a benevolent god and the line between "merry" and "making other guests babysit you" is to be respected. Do bring something if you plan on drinking alcohol, please? You know how this works. I can afford to feed you but I need help with the alcohol budget. No smoking in the house, no illegal drugs.

THE PARTY will have an abundant supply of tea.

Just a short promo I made for fun and for House Day !!

House day!💙

Heute war der erste sogenannte 'house day'. An meiner Schule gibt es vier Häuser und man kann sich das System in etwa so vorstellen wie bei Harry Potter. Ich bin in dem Haus Aquila und die farben des Hauses sind blau und türkis. Es gab verschiedene dinge zu machen und es war alles so witzig und hat so viel spaß gemacht! Man konnte zum pool der schule gehen und wir haben den sogenannten Haka gelernt, was der traditionelle Māori tanz ist. Am ende wurde dann gesagt welches Haus am meisten Punkte bei den verschiedenen aktivitäten gesmmelt hat und das Haus das gewonnen hat war Aquila!! Aber es ging nicht nur ums gewinnen sondern um den House Spirit. Alle ziehen sich nach den Farben des Hauses an in dem sie sind, was echt cool aussieht.
