As the pair sunbathed upon riverbank, the tickle of water drying on skin only grew more pronounced with the idle touch of fingers. What had begun as merely an aimless graze of nails from the book-bound man at his side quickly brought a purring grunt of approval from Theo.

Quickly, back arched to prompt further action and Roland seemed happy to oblige. Scratching fingers danced first along spine and followed over the urging, upward stretch of shoulders as muscles guided him along. The elf’s ears slouched and tensed in cadence with the more satisfying spots, a somehow pleasant wince scrunching at his nose. The reaction his scratches garnered nearly pulled a giggle from Roland, and his book was set down to then utilize both hands - much better than one!  A silent exchange until short, involuntary noises of approval rolled out of Theo, nearly reminiscent of those that Toki made when receiving particularly wonderful bellyrubs. The realization that he had been reduced to a blissful mabari pup against Roland’s fingers was enough to drag a snorting laugh that carried through the air.
