Apple Matches Worker Donations to IDF and Illegal Settlements, Employees Allege

Self-described Apple workers, former employees, and shareholders are calling on the company to halt donations to nonprofits linked to Israel

AN OPEN LETTER from Apple employees and shareholders demands the tech giant stop matching employee donations to organizations with ties to the Israeli military assault on the Gaza Strip and ongoing illegal settlement development in the West Bank. The letter, building on a previous demand by Apple employees for a ceasefire in the conflict, calls on the company to “promptly investigate and cease matching donations to all organizations that further illegal settlements in occupied territories and support the IDF.” As with many large corporations, Apple employees can make donations to a number of nonprofit organizations and receive matching contributions from their employer through a platform called Benevity. Among the charitable organizations eligible for dollar-matching from Apple are Friends of the IDF, an organization that collects donations on behalf of soldiers in the Israeli military, as well as a number of groups that contribute to the settlement enterprise in the West Bank, including HaYovel, One Israel Fund, the Jewish National Fund, and IsraelGives. Apple did not respond to a request for comment.

This isn't the only genocide Apple is funding.

Ey man concerning your post about apple+ and pluribus: DId not know that! Wtf! Unfortunately the show IS REALLY GOOD and I will be continuing to watch it. (srsly, 11/10 first two episodes! Consider pirating them at least, it rocks!)

I have no doubt that the show is amazing, I am shaking in anticipation to watch it. I love Rhea Seehorn and Vince Gilligan's work and I fully intend on watching it.

But there is no series on this earth that will get me to fund violence against Palestinians. Apple directly gives millions of dollars to the IDF and illegal settlers while firing anyone who speaks out in support of the people of Palestine.

You can wait a bit until Apple lets another service have a turn. You can commit piracy. You can wait for DVD sets to rent or buy. You can make continuous fake new accounts to take advantage of Apple tv+'s free trial.

You cannot give money to apartheid or genocide. That is not an option.

Basically, if you don’t know: The people of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Or the DRC) has been suffering due to big tech companies like Apple, Alphabet Inc., Google, Dell, Microsoft and Tesla. They have been exploiting Congo’s land for their minerals like Diamonds, Gold, Copper, Cobalt, Tin, Tantalum and Lithium. These companies use these minerals to make phones, cars, computers and other technology.

The people of Congo are being treated like dirt, like they worth less than the colonizers stealing from them. The colonizers, which they call ‘Rebels’ have been r*ping, killing brutally, enslaving, and starving them. They are being kicked out of their land because these big tech companies want it. They’re being killed and r*ped because these big tech companies think they have the right.

This isn’t right!! So research what’s going on, tell others, spread awareness. Look up what companies are exploiting Congo and boycott. Don’t buy their stuff, keep using your phone or laptop until it’s broken and unusable.

recently, i joined a tumblr community for Pluribus discussion. so far, everyone has been discussing Carol's struggles with her sexuality, the parallels between the hivemind and the conversion camp in Carol's youth, and heavy topics leaning to that direction;

there was a clear Carol love going on, but that's just my opinion

anyway, i shared some of my thoughts there about two hours ago, and got the notifications that some of my posts were removed due to:

i say things that hold up a mirror to people, and most don't like what they see. since this summer, i've been experiencing this in friendships, in professional relationships, with relatives. and, of course, online

i've been back to tumblr for about a month, maybe less, and let's say this is the second time something like this is happening. i'm aware i'm the problem lol

fictional discourse is fictional, first of all. me saying Carol or whatever character i'm talking about is a shitty person, i'm talking about a fictional character. a person that does not exist. i'm aware the words i choose are aggressive, yes, but the points i'm making aren't. my message isn't

i love discussions, i love debating, and i love respectful dialogue. i don't appreciate being silenced because my opinion is not agreed with

anyway, ended up making this about myself a bit too much, my bad

all of this to say, fictional discourse is meant to be transparent, cold, and honest. consuming and debating media is how we develop critical thinking the best.
