Badass Power Couple™ takes down salty vampire on wedding day more news at 10
I completely agree with the standing in front of someone during a lip sync. That was messy. But I don't agree about not going after a strong competitor. The difference in set up between All Stars and normal Drag Race I think allows for it. To me seizing the opportunity and picking a strong competitor's lipstick when they're in the bottom is a perfectly valid strategy in All Stars. I don't see it as shady. It's the name of the game, gotta set yourself up to win. Just my two cents.
That’s the thing, though. Y’all are thinking in terms of competition, and that’s really narrow. A lot of people who are involved in reality competitions don’t understand that there is an entire life waiting from them outside of said competition; they get tunnel vision and think stuff like “if I eliminate this super fierce competitor, it’ll be easier for me to win!” Which is true, of course. But then comes the fallout when the show airs, and the internet turns on you because you eliminated the wrong person because it never occurred to you to think that, hey, maybe the general population/audience won’t like underhanded tactics like this, particularly when you do them to a popular contestant.I’d argue that it being All-Stars makes it a lot LESS acceptable, personally, because in a regular season you never know how the audience is gonna react to the people you’re competing with. In All-Stars? You KNOW those queens have HUGE followings and a strong fanbase. Taking Gia Gunn out of the equation isn’t realistically the same as eliminating Valentina, particularly in a situation where she clearly didn’t deserve to go home over Gia. A lot of these queens sometimes don’t think about this, and then have to deal with the fallout and it isn’t pretty. Phi Phi O’hara is a perfect example, and not in season 4, but in her clash with Alyssa in All-Stars 2.
10 years ago I went to PF Chang’s for my birthday with @dorian-mode and @evgaming. It was my 18th birthday and I was happy to celebrate with a few friends. This year I went to PF Chang’s and recreated those pictures we took when we were so little and took a new picture with fantastic friends @princessbonillaescope @because-u-can @howdoiflythisthing @greatmuppetykruphix and my mom and the two who don’t have tumblr.
I love you all so much and I’m so beyond lucky to have you in my life. You’re the family I chose and I don’t know what I would do without you. To steal a phrase you spark joy and I think I’ll be keeping you around. Here’s to another 10 years of love and memories.
I was a Star for our Halloween party this year! I dont have a full costume picture not in the blacklight but ill try to get one soon because i was very proud of it! I won the costume contest again which was also nice! @pamela-helene won second place with her amazing Buffy the Vampire Slayer and @dorian-mode was her Spike!!! It was so much fun and even though I didnt get as much done on my halloween costume as i would have liked because of the appendectomy it still turned out pretty neat. i dont have pictures of @evgaming, @howdoiflythisthing, @princessbonillaescope, and @greatmuppetykruphix but they were awesome too!!
Emergency appendectomy: complete! Appendix: removed! Victoria: gently removed from the hospital! Long post of the past two days in my world! So I had been feeling terrible since Thursday night, got about 4 hours of sleep and just been a blah day in general. After work on Friday I went with a friend to hang out at the mall, just chilling and having good conversation. I started to feel this pain in my stomach but I had been drinking a lot of water and Gatorade to rehydrate and eaten only rice so I figured that was why. And then I started to get a low grade fever but everyone at my work is getting sick. Again thought that was the reason. After I got home I tried to relax and make the pain better. I took a bath and it was still hurting me, more centered on the right side. Now Brianna had her appendix out last year in June so I vaguely knew the symptoms of appendicitis, but I was worried I was being paranoid. So I look up the symptoms of where the pain is localized and tried to do the pressure test and was starting to freak myself out. Then I went into the living room and asked my sister and mother what the symptoms for it were because maybe then they would confirm my suspicions or alleviate my paranoia. We went through the symptoms and I was missing a few, I hadn't vomited at all I just had watery stool and such but I was also getting into feeling so much pain that I couldn't stop crying. So at 11 pm we head to the ER. They did a CT scan and Urine sample and phenergran for the nausea because I vomited right after they stuck me with the IV which I I think was more about the needle than anything and the morphine wore off every thirty minutes or so so they gave me Dilaudid which worked waaaaay too good making me loopy and very friendly and very tired. At about 230 the Doctor (who at first thought it was gastroenteritis) came in and he had a terrible poker face and I knew immediately that it was surgery in my future. So he patted my hand and told me I was in the early stages of acute appendicitis which gave me mixed feelings because I have never had surgery but also I was right in my assumption and I wasn't paranoid and silly. He went to talk to the surgeon and I cried because I was terrified and mama and Elizabeth had to calm me down. At 400 they finally had a room for me (408 which is a gr8 number). I entertained the nurses because of my loopy silly brain (so much so that the nurse came in this afternoon and asked if I remembered her and when I said yes she told me "you were so much fun") After falling asleep and then waking up in pain and having to wait an hour and a half past when I was supposed to get the next pain dosage because they didn't order the meds at shift change I slept on and off again. At about 1000 they came in and took me back for surgery and I could barely stay awake because of the phenergran and because I am susceptible af to sleepy meds. So when the anesthesiologist came in and asked if I was feeling ok my drugged up and already drooping from the anesthesia they just injected brain mentioned that my throat was dry and I'm a vocalist so that's a bit odd for me. And he goes "oh you are can you sing something for me?" And I immediately went into "Habañera" from Carmen. He laughed a bit because every time I hit a note flat I would stop and say that's not right. Then he asked me to sing Ave Maria and I got almost all the way through before the anesthesia took hold. Like I remember singing the last "mortis nostarae" before the amens, singing a note wrong and correcting myself before the world went dark. Then they brought me out of it and I was wheeled up at about 130pm and all my awesome friends were waiting to chill with my sleepy being. And they stayed all day and brought me doughnuts and fabric lillies and Dr. pepper and I am so grateful for all of them. I'm currently on more meds and sleeping sitting up and my incision sites hurt but I'm happy. @dorian-mode @princessbonillaescope @pamela-helene @howdoiflythisthing @evgaming @greatmuppetykruphix @rayrayluvsfinny Rebekah, Chelsey, and Jeremiah Thank you so much I love all of you and your silly awesome faces. 💗💞💗
