Hozomeen is a project where the music is written, performed and produced by Graham Thompson. Graham has been writing and performing in bands in his native Newcastle upon Tyne for around 25 years. Thoughts on the move. ° I have a LOT of time to think, internally and aloud, during my hikes and climbs. I was recently asked what I think about...and it's hard to pinpoint. In terms of single thought topics, introspection probably carries the most heft. An uncontrolled stream of consciousness. My quirks, troubles, faults. There's plenty of the first and third. What can I do to be better? What have I done incorrectly? Whom have I wronged? Why have I done or acted a certain way? Often, my thoughts repeat...a single phrase, sentence, or word is stuck on repeat. Sometimes there is a reason it's stuck. Other times, nothing, my brain simply trips over, and over, and over; this occurs most frequently during high exertion stints. ° Numbers are constantly running through as well. How many people, up and down, have I encountered? How many switchbacks have been through? How fast am I moving? I dislike seeing distance markers if I'm in a groove... I'll immediately ruminate of how much farther or how much longer there is to go, the math is easy. ° Most of all isn't a thought though. Most of the time is spent focusing on my breath and my immediate surroundings. Being out is my moving meditation. I focus on something. I experience everything around me without judgment or even acknowledgement. There are sights and places that stop that though. Those are what I capture in a camera.
