stayed up late thinking (yelling to @drarrytrash via text) about Luna and Ginny as strippers again
currently discovering that in order to write a stripper au of any kind I need to flesh out (hehe) how the wizarding world interacts with sex work. that’s. so much.
prostitution is an organic occurrence in any given universe I can imagine. Be it “high class” vs “low class” and maybe (the dream) it could be a normal job. but then you step back from full-service bring in the entertainment aspect. Could wizarding strip clubs exist? Who would work there, who would the customers be?
One aspect I’m considering is that strip clubs are watering holes & sanctuary for travelers on their way home from work, on business trips, on vacation, etc. That’s a massive section of our clientele! But in the ww people can apparate or floo or take a portkey. That lessens in-area traffic - you wouldn’t have so many local customers if it’s not ‘on the way.’
Business deal signings often involve people taking potential clients to the club, showing them a good time until they’re comfortable & agree, or as a way to build a relationship with their client. Then they go off to their parlors or offices or wherever the fuck and sign the deals. That’s definitely something I could see happening with Lucius Malfoy lmao.
