okay one more hr post bcos i had the thoughts while watching but a) i dont like that either of them win cups at all bcos i think it would suit the narrative of their relationship much better if theyre Also struggling to get what they want in their careers. i think the ‘please please please let me get what i want’ aspect of being a pro athlete lends itself well to paralleling the gay yearning but whatever thats just my opinion. which leads to,

b) i wouldve loved. and i know this is adapting an already written book but idgaf. i wouldve loved for them to face each other in like an eastern conf final situation. have an episode around like a game 7 mtl vs bos ecf winner gets to go to the finals (and lose) situation. and neither of them Really wanna fuck after but theres still a lot of raw emotions and adrenaline and so it gets weird and confusing. like i think thats more compelling than you won the cup and i didnt, bcos the win/loss is still fresh and places them really directly as enemies/rivals like. yknow like the title would suggest. and there would also be Hockey. anyway thats just my opinion.
