Also my voice is low enough now that I’m a baritone (I’ve been everything from a soprano 1 to a baritone now wow-) and I’m not super dysphoric about it anymore so I can actually sing again
I was in chorus until I was like 13, and then stopped taking that as a class because of the voice dysphoria. And then got scared starting T that I would lose the ability to sing altogether. And it was rough for a while. But I can SING AGAIN !!!! And it brings me so much joy and I’m lucky enough to have a choral instructor who specifically studies trans and gender expansive voices at my school now and just- I can sing again and oh how I sorely missed the joy of using my voice and not feeling ashamed and hurt by it
Anyways I have my first concert in 2 days- it’s part of a Christmas service at a church which, not a big church fan but oh well, I’m just so happy I get to sing again and I get to enjoy it for the first time in like 6 years because it’s actually turning into *my* voice, the one I was always meant to have
Anyways another love letter to hrt. It doesn’t just save lives. It makes living life better, more joyful and exciting and full of love.
