I probably mentioned it before, but one of the things I like the least about the creation of Homestuck^2 is the sense of self-importance it gave to a lot of the people who read it, and the conviction they're apparently superior to us, the plebs who regret the direction it took. I keep running into fans who self-congratulate themselves over loving the sequel, who start shit about it when no one asked for their advice, and affirm out loud that if we don't like Homestuck^2, that's because we're mentally dissociating, making no sense, or just little babies who can't handle harsh truths (which, you know, is hilarious to read when you're an actual abuse and trauma survivor). 

Or, you know, it might be due to bad writing, bad characterization, boring story, and contestable design choices ? Couldn't be it

i didn’t know there was a difference between hs^2 and the epilogues until today and that’s because i take care of myself

Me in 2016: I hate those fanfics where the author makes Davekat get together whilst shitting over Rosemary or shoving them into the background.

Me in 2020: And thus, to the surprise of nobody, it turns out that Homestuck itself was the worst fanfiction all along.
