tbf the goodwill postcanon burned was mainly from outside interactions with the staff and such, before being nuked with the cheating arc.
disagree. i was into hs2 for the first part. the outside interactions were definitely sorta. cutting at the edges of the goodwill, but i certainly just said i didnt like the writers but was still willing to give them a shot.
then pq started to get worse, and i started to notice more flaws paired with the writers and hs2 was no longer fun. yiffy, right before her release, was actually a very positive idea. people were excited for a new kid, who was this kid's parents? we know she's related to jade! so everyone was making cutesy girls with giant glasses, which, like, i love that character archetype.
i cannot stress enough pq was literally the thing that carried me through to like hs2. when hs2 was getting worse i was still giving every pq playthrough a shot. i LIKED pq for the most part. looking back now, its a huge mess, but it started getting bad in terms of writing was in the alpha kids, because allllll of the alpha routes were linking to postcanon. nobody else's routes really super did that. (though the comment about not bringing kanaya and rose together despite throwing davekat at eachother made me mad at the time too LOL)
and then the actual idea for yiffany was revealed (and later it was stated via patreon that they went out of their way to design what no one wanted yiffany to be) and everything really fell apart.
