Close up for the Greg Noll painting. This guy's awesome, he started to gain popularity in the late 50s and 60s for riding 25-35ft waves in surf spots that local Hawaiians deemed dangerous or even impossible. So appreciative to be invited to participate in One Recovery Gallery's (@_1recovery ) "The Art of Surf" show at 1431 Ocean Avenue, Santa Monica. Some of the surfing world's most influential artists are participating, along with some amazing memorabilia that's on display. We have the Sacred Board of Eddie Aikau, which is the last thing he was seen alive on, Patrick Swayze's board from the original Pointbreak, art from the designer's of the Rolling Stone's and Sublime's cover art and many other amazing artists who all elevate the status of surfing's art culture. I am a little intimidated by the sheer level of talent and experience brought to the table and am so thankful for the opportunity.
