Spring break is over. We are several weeks into the season and the league schedules are heating up. Boys Match of the Week West Linn (2-1)(6A) 4 Central Catholic (2-1) (6A) 4 Central Catholic gave West Linn all they had, grinding out two 3-set victories at 1st and 3rd singles to score the tie, West Linn won overall thanks to the set tiebreaker (10-8) This non-conference contest must’ve been a barn burner to watch, and should pay dividends as the regular season schedule kicks off for both programs. Notable Performers of the Week (Boys Tennis) Zach Moore (11) Cascade Moore is off to a 4-0 start on the year at No. 1 singles, and has given up just one game in his four matches. Dating back to last season’s abbreviated season, he’s 13-0 in his career thus far. Gus Krauel(12) Central Catholic Grinded out a 3-set win(2-6, 6-3, 7-5) over West Linn’s Jaxson Ledwith on Friday to maintain an unbeaten record on the year so far(3-0) and establishing them both as players to watch in 6A singles title race later this year. Ryson Chiang(9) / Cameron Paulsen (11) West Linn This 1st doubles duo have been lights out to start the year(3-0) including a hard-fought win against Kadin & Kyle Freeman(4-6, 6-2, 6-1) of Lake Oswego. Jake Anderson(10)/ Liam Rutherford (11) Stayton This pair have reeled off four straight wins to start their season — all straight set victories-- and will continue to be a linchpin in their team’s ability to compete for dual match wins throughout the year.
