hug-all-platelets replied to your post “specialcolorfulshabon replied to your photoset “The yellow Cures are...”
Considering they have they have the hair colors of three of the Linkle Stones (red, blue, yellow; ruby, sapphire, topaz, if that makes sense) I was kinda disappointed they didn't turn out to be sixth ranger Cures associated with those stones, like how Felice is associated with the emerald.
Ahh indeed that’s what it looks like! Maybe I could draw them a design based on the corresponding jewel transformation.
I’m glad I wasn’t there when Mahou Tsukai was airing since I would have been so bummed that they didn’t become Cures. Much better to learn of this afterwards.
Question about Hazbin Highway: how is hell divided into different areas? Is it divided by type of sin or by severity (i.e. breaking someone's arm and stabbing someone to death would be the same type - physical violence - but of different severity)? Or both, or something else entirely?
Yeah, kinda similar to that - like the Nine Circles in Dante's Journey, but not their exact descriptions.
Hell is meant to be like a really crappy, creepy place to "live," and are divided up based on their actions and severity of them - the ones whose actions weren't as bad are on the outer edges where it's a little less bad, and the worse ones are closer on the inside of the section and face worse hardships/punishment.Also there are office buildings full of demon employees everywhere, who oversee the landscape and punishments. Which are less "dance in fire and be poked with a pitchfork" and more like the karmic punishments in Greek mythology, like Tantalus's punishment of having food/drink JUST out of reach constantly.
That's how it's meant to be and how Charlie always thought it was, but again, part of the revamp is the cast learning the entire system is messed up and the rules have practically been thrown out the window.
Honestly, the Youkwai au really interests me. The magical girl market is saturated with mascots who are good, it would be fun to see a story where they are more evil. Probably wouldn't trust Astruc to not muck it up though.
Yeah its an interesting concept that isn’t touched on a lot, where your cute mascots for magical girls is actually evil. I think Madoka is the only one that does? I could be wrong.
But yeah, its a concept I do like, gives even more reason for them to be sealed in miraculouses when they caused a lot of trouble, and it makes sense to make that power be used for good, and its a test of character when dealing with a little being that’s trying to get you to turn to a darker nature, if not outright evil.
And there’s complexity since not all are outright evil, some stand for good but go too far, some are just up for mischief and fun, and some are just apathetic and care not be involved.
And yeah, I for sure wouldn’t trust Thomas to pull it off.
I like the names you gave to the mermaids in the storyboarded fight scene you made for that story. Was there any particular inspiration for them?
All the mermaids are named after different types of sea snails!
Are you also going to (re)design the aliens for your Tokyo Mew Mew/Precure crossover?
The thing with Precure villains is that there isn’t really a a set look for them. The Cures all have recurring trends in design (segmented hairstyles, boots with colored toe tips, fingerless gloves/arm covers, pouch for transformation item, ruffled underskirts, etc.) even if the exact look varies. The villains (usually) have recurring design features within each season, but among seasons they vary wildly. So, I don’t think QPT would necessarily look that different…
But anyway, here’s a quick doodle of the trio in a Precure-ish style.
If I were doing this more seriously I might make them more dramatic/flamboyant and possibly add some animal theming, but I just like drawing magical girls better oops
Hey, maybe a bit of a morbid question and you don't have to answer it if you don't want to, but: what is the mourning process like on each of the Winx' respective home planets?
death absolutely terrifies and depresses me but im also endlessly fascinated by it So this is a super interesting ask to answer.
MELODY
The regular method of burial on melody is cremation, but in a way as to not damage the bones which sometimes require cleaning after cremation. The bones are viewed as sacred, especially the hyoid, the ribs, and the finger bones, which are stored in an intricate wooden or metal box that sealed with various ribbons, usually in the familial colors, and the family crest. The boxes are stored in the house. Melodians dress in gray and dark red. Red on Melody symbolizes unity, but gray is a symbol of death and loss. So the funeral wear symbolizes the loss suffered, but the red accents symbolize the unity of the family/community, as well as the connection the living still share with the deceased. The veiled hat is worn by the immediate family members for three days, after which its up to personal choice.
SOLARIA
because solaria is mostly desert, the ground really isn’t good for “traditional” burial methods. So on the edge of towns a tall, flat top tower is built, and the deceased are laid out on reed mats and the priests spread salt around/on the bodies as needed until the body is completely dried, the reed mat is then tied around the body and the deceased is laid to rest in walls of the upper part of the tower. The priests live in the lower part and are also a medical society handling births, injuries, and illnesses. Funerals are held at sundown, and are quiet, somber affairs within the temple and few attendants.
ZENITH
So Zenith specifically considered the brain and skull the most important parts of the human body, and preserve both of them. The deceased with have their memories and personality uploaded to a system called the Mental Population Preservation Board but its jokingly referred to as the brainframe. This process is ideally started before death, but can be done after death with minimal loss of information as long as there isnt damage to the brain. The skull is either preserved whole, or separated into parts, engraved, and given to the family. The patterns engraved on the skull chip function as a bar-code which the Mental Population Preservation Board reads and pulls up the corresponding record of the individual. The MPPB is technically just a storage system, and not a true AI as it cannot learn, however it can accurately reproduce the affectations, memories, and personality of the deceased, as well as produce educated guesses about responses the person would make to new stimuli. If the family does not wish to break the skull up, MPPB chips can be made out of other bones, or synthetic material. The rest of the deceased’s body is “recycled” the body being used for experiments, food for livestock, or broken down to its base components and minerals for various uses.
LYNPHEA
Lynphean funerals happen very quickly after death, though in emergencies the body can be held on ice for a little while. The deceased is posed in a fetal position, and surrounded with flowers or other vegetation. Lynpheans don’t do any cosmetic work, if the body has damage or decay those spots are covered in flowers/vegetation first. The the body and foliage is then packed with clay and left in the sun/air until at least the outer inches of clay has dried. The clay pod is then buried and a tree or bush or flower garden is planted on top. Lynpheans don’t have designated graveyards so really only the family knows where the deceased are buried.
DOMINO
Domino holds their funeral and burials on their mountaintops in designated graveyards, but it really just has to be above the snow level. The funeral party and deceased are carried up the mountain with a funeral shroud, logs, and smithing equipment. The logs are built into a pyre and the deceased is placed on top covered by the funeral shroud and the pyre is lit from the four corners(nourth, south, east and west). the ashes are mixed into iron, which are forged into a small iron cube and stamped with the family crest and left in the middle of where the funeral pyre was.
ANDROS
Andros has two parts, the first is the body preparation, the organs are removes, the cavities are packed with salt, and the body is wrapped in traditional biodegradable fabric. The body is placed on a fabric sheet, with two poles along the side strung with flowers. The poles and “hammock” are carried by immidiate family members, and the rest of the funeral party walks ahead and behind, everybody has flower crowns, necklaces, belts, etc. and are wailing, crying, and being physically demonstrative of their grief. The second part is when the body is placed in a burial cave where the attendants remove and lay their flowers around the body. the funeral party then returns with music and dancing inviting strangers to join in and celebrate the persons life.
Re: those last two tags on your new harmonix post: I personally would prefer if you worked on dreamix/onyrix first. But obviously, it's up to you in the end. (Sorry if you wanted to put out a more official post before having people chime in on the issue.)
Thank you all! I’m working on other things just atm, but I think I’m gonna do Dreamix/Onyrix and then redo Draconix and Sirenix+ the other elementix, as always you will be able to get a sneak peak of sketches at my patreon!
