Lebewesen

meistens eher groß aber manchmal auch klein

manchmal mit manchmal ohne Blätter (kommt auf Jahreszeit und Standort an)

Schattenspender (aber nur wenn die Sonne scheint)

Schutz vor Regen (aber nur mit Blättern)

Klettermöglichkeiten (Achtung! nicht jeder Baum eignet sich zu klettern/Ausprobieren auf eigene Gefahr)

Ausguck

mächtig (je größer desto mächtiger)

manche sehr alt und manche noch jung 

Lebensräume (für viele Tiere zum Beispiel Affen und Vögel)

schön

Häuser (auch Menschen können in Baumhäusern leben)

Unterschlupf (zum Beispiel vor Regen)

Orientierungspunkt (innerhalb von Wäldern ist es schwer Bäume als Orientierungspunkt zu nutzen)

Wälder (eine Ansammlung mehrerer Bäume auf einer von Bäumen begrenzten Fläche)

Way back, early in my use of Instagram, I would post tree photo on Tuesdays with the tag #TreeTuesday. Now, I did not come up with this idea or this tag, it was just something I saw and thought it was fun to join in. Well, I am jumping back in. You see this past weekend a big multi-influencer fundraiser started on YouTube under the hashtag #TeamTrees. It’s a massive collective effort to raise money to plant trees, one dollar = one tree, with the goal being 20 million dollars/20 million trees by Jan 1, 2020. (Tree) For me, this (plantings trees) seems like an awesome use of social media. AND it also brings up a point I often discuss, How ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! So often we feel overwhelmed by things like climate change, wildlife trafficking, poaching and so on. This whole Team Trees thing came about because one person had an idea and other individuals joined in and now its a world wide fundraiser to get these tress in the ground. Rain rain go away, come again another day... . . Whilst staring out the window at the gloom and wet, my thoughts looping in a somewhat negative spiral, feeling unmotivated, sleepy and sure that I do not belong in this climate... . I was suddenly reminded of an @drwaynedyer quote I love... “Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change”. Right. Fine. Okay. So I started thinking about what’s awesome about the rain... - being cozy - My fire place - Getting things done inside - Reading - Being creative - Feeding the forest!! FEEDING THE FOREST! Yes the forest!!! The trees! They are so happy! You know me, I love my trees. . . I decided I needed to get out of my head and into the forest to shift my feelings about all this wet and darkness. . . What transpired was a 3 hour run/dance/frolick through the gorgeous, rain soaked, magical forests, where I allowed myself to fully surrender and get soaked to the bone. I was a ninja at first, careful to maneuver and leap across huge puddles and creeks so my shoes wouldn’t get wet. Then I finally said fuck it and became 5 years old. Stomping through puddles, squealing and singing! (Bonus to running in the forest in the rain is most don’t so you have it all to yourself!!) The smell of wet cedar, symphony of rain drops falling from the tree tops, rivers running through my sneakers, rain washing over my face... Glorious! . . I remember earlier this week while walking with my sister in the rain a man said to us... “Some people walk in the rain, others get wet”. What does this mean to you? Perspective is such a powerful tool. I’m always thankful when I have the awareness to chose it. Is there an area in your life that could use a change of scenery?
