"He’s an antagonist but more of a comic relief character than an actual villain. He’s a rat bastard but at least he’s funny and looks good while being one. And dw he’s not a cop, station inspector isn’t a police rank in France IIRC."

You know, watching a few “History of Cinema” videos from kubricklynch’s channel had me thinking back to the early 2010’s, when I first discovered the movie Hugo, which in turn introduced me to the amazing filmography of Georges Melies, and helped me become a lot more appreciative of early silent cinema.
