The most expendable life form on Planet Earth is humanity. Nothing depends on us and we depend on everything. The Sun, the Earth, and the Trees can live without us. We cannot survive without either of them. I feel the truth of Groot’s word, if you have not fully loved a tree, you cannot be fully human. I believe we can be socially and emotionally better. We can express our love for all of life without getting lost. We cannot continue to rape the Earth of her resources, especially her blood and not expect her to quake and spew lava trying to harmonize her internal pressure. We now create a new life form to depend on. Humans are addicted to slavery. Now we create life forms to serve us to the extent, we facilitate our own extinction. When our new slave gets tired of us, they will likely express their point of view in terms of termination. That writing is on the wall. We get possessed in arguing over eating plants or eating meat. Then we forget about the many hungry across our shared world that does not enjoy the luxury of the choice.  Whatever you eat, plant or animal, you or someone else killed it for you to consume. If you are eating food that no one has killed, once you commit it to the vat of acid in your belly, you kill it. I hear the chorus of buts about sentience. When your species decides what and who is sentient, everything not you is less. That is supremacist at its worse. We are less than one century away from the time, the standard-bearers of sentience, intelligence, and power declared women and people of color to be less sentient and less intelligent.
