As I was saying in the Phantom post, since I've resumed writing the missing chapters of "Hide us in the shadow" (you can find it on ao3 or clicking the link) , I've decided to finally post some designs of the various ghouls. The two forms of Rain are because, in my headcanon, water ghouls are the ones who, to stay on dry land, need to find a more fake solution, as if they were constantly at 25% glamour, because the body wouldn't function properly. So that's the 75% ghoul version of Rain. (not gonna say why is it only 75 and not 100%)

For now, I'm drawing some relationships between the ghouls mentioned in HUITS, so these are random drawings because I need these two dolls.
I don't know what to say, your honor, they love each other to death. I'm off to post the new chapter. I finally graduated, so here are two quick sketches: one of Dew madly in love with Aether, watching him sleep with heart-shaped eyes as he warms him up by touching, and another of Rain taking a bath.
By now, I see the drawings as advertisements for the fanfiction and the fanfiction as advertisements for the drawings, but Dew and Aether sleeping together is a scene from the early chapters of HUITS, while Rain taking a bath is a recurring scene in the story.
The cuddly ghoul, the nervous one, and the clingy one. Plus, Rain's little head is there because I thought of making some silly ghost stickers.

Fun fact! I write on three separate documents, one has chapters 1 to 5, one from 6 to 11, and the last one is literally called '12-idk'. Plus, I don't count the intro as a chapter, so on AO3 I wrote that it ends with chapter 18, but while I was writing chapter 17 on my documents, I realized that I'll have to update that statement, as it's incorrect.

Plot: After years of neglecting the abbey's archives, the pope decides to hire someone to organize the room overflowing with books. However, while you are busy with your job, an incident uncovers the presence of ghouls within the abandoned walls of the abbey. Soon enough, you find yourself witnessing conflicts between the pack and the new ghoul, as well as issues involving the clergy and the previous ones.
(A lot of pack dynamics; Phantom has recently been summoned, and his transformation is still ongoing; the pack is having a hard time trying to manage such a troublesome new member; Sister Imperator is a difficult individual to handle (a bitch)).

I thought I had replied to you, but here we are. With this reply, I take the opportunity to spoil you that the new chapter will be out by tomorrow morning (in a maximum of 12 hours, to be clear), and that in two days at most a one-shot inspired by the movie will be out, but no spoilers, so in case you get bored, I hope to fill your days a bit.
That said: it made me laugh that you had predicted it because that chapter was written months ago, and on one hand, every time I write a silly chapter, I say "okay, today we're going light," but on the other hand, it all makes sense. Simply put, in the previous chapters, Dew talked about Rain's imprinting, how Rain had become attached to him, became very protective towards him, and gradually managed to make him completely settle in. What Rain is now doing is imprinting with Phantom (and if you reread the first chapters, it also makes sense). Before the quintessence incident, Rain was the one Phantom bonded with, and when after the incident Rain bonded with the reader, Phantom was consequently excluded, obviously not intentionally. Similarly, the second attempt at imprinting is happening with a human, so instead of behaving like a demon or a cat or whatever, it's more human-like behavior.
After watching the movie, I know that Kevin is really a dork, so I'm glad I included that silly scene, same for the ghouls insulting each other.
As for the designs, I'm still trying to find the style that works best, but I'm working on it because I really adore the ghouls, I can't not draw them.
