Human Ducks Headcanon

I know not everyone likes the Human!Duck universe, but bear with me. Also let me say that I always tend to omit certain things when it comes to the humanverse thing. It just. Some things only make sense when talking about cartoon ducks, okay? So the history isn’t 100% accurate and I’m okay with that.

Aside from the boys, Donald’s closest living relatives (closest meaning those who are not only related to him but also who he sees most often) are Scrooge and Ludwig. Who have super strong accents. 

Like, Scrooge came to america and made his way to Calisota all the way from Glasgow. Ludwig is Austrian, I think? 

Eventually, Donald’s mother Hortense made it to America too, and met Quackmore (or whatever human name you’d like to give him). She’d likely have first set foot on the east coast, not the west. Eventually, she and her family made it to Calisota too. But I like to think that they settled down and took a while to make it to Duckburg. Donald and Della spent their childhood in the east. 

And the whole point of this, the entire reason I even decided to headcanon it in the first place...

Wouldn’t it be great if Human!Donald had just the thickest Bostonian accent?

Plus whichever speech impediment you’d prefer him to have. And it’s mellowed out since his childhood, owing to the fact that most of his life has been spend in Duckburg. 

But like when he gets mad. The accent drowns out everything he says (except for the word “fuck” and a few other curses).

I want Mickey or someone to comment on it. Like, he comes over for dinner and Donald and his uncles are having a conversation (argument) and Mick just leans over to Minnie and whispers “I just...have no idea.”

This family needs more accents. Never enough fun accents.

“This is Della Duck!”

It occured to me that it’s been ages since I’ve drawn human ducks... and the latest episode and my huge crush on a certain moon mom gave me the opportunity to make some messy sketches of my human Della.

I’m still figuring out human proportions, haha. Also first time I colored them! Hope you enjoy, I might make more of them any time soon.
