A little Human Aithusa for your soul 💫
Hello everyone! I've decided to do another artwork for the BBC Merlin fandom, since i'm currently (and will be forever) obsessed. For this one i tried to show a peaceful moment of bonding between Merlin and the cute baby dragon Aithusa. I'm so sad for her storyline and for the lack of interations between Merlin and the little baby, since Merlin is the one who hatch her egg! He's basically her human father, so it would have been nice to see more scenes between them other than "fights". I thought that since dragons are creature of the Old Religion, they have a lot of power and they can change into human form! I wanted to show a moment where Merlin proudly watch over his daughter baby Aithusa to prevent her from falling! So here it is Merlin and baby Aithusa flying together! I hope you like it!
Arthur: Merlin... I might be pregnant...
Merlin: And I might be a normal human.
Arthur: I’m serious, idiot, Gaius thinks...
Merlin: My king, you’re a man...
Arthur: And you’re a damn ancient god with dragon blood, son of a human woman, half-dragon man, and the literal Goddess of Magic! You really think your lineage is produced normally?
Merlin: ... Oh my God. (softly)
Arthur: “Oh my God” (mocking)
Merlin: OH MY GOD! (celebrates, picks Arthur up and spins him around) I’M GOING TO BE A DAD!
Arthur: Yes, silly, that’s what I just told you. (laughs)
Merlin: You’re going to be the most beautiful creature of all for nine months, my king. 😍
Arthur: Only for nine months. (teasing)
Merlin: Yes, unfortunately your title of most beautiful creature will be passed on when our baby is born.
Arthur: (soft)
Merlin: Come on, darling, you can jump.
Aithusa: Are you sure?
Merlin: Of course, relax, I’ll catch you.
Aithusa: But…
Merlin: Relax!
Aithusa jumps.
Merlin lets her fall.
Merlin: Rule number one: trust no one!
Arthur: SHE’S THREE YEARS OLD, MERLIN!
Merlin: She’s a dragon, Arthur, and a princess of Camelot. Besides learning to fly, she must know she can’t trust anyone.
Arthur: She’s just a baby, you idiot!
Merlin: Aithusa, don't ever break someone's heart. They only have one.
Aithusa: Ok dad.
Arthur: Yeah, break their bones instead. They have 206 of those.
Merlin: Arthur..no.
Arthur: 😁
