Mammon’s Human Life | Obey Me |

Part One Part Two Summary: A few years after Mammon officially became a human and starts closing the scars his brother left, the brothers finally want to get in contact. The question that lies however.. is Mammon ready to face them? Genre: Angsty ---

“MC! I’m back!” Mammon closes the door to MC’s place, looking around for the human in question . It’s been a few years since Mammon had gotten comfortable, living with MC. He helped where he could, getting odd jobs that pay well. He goes to put his keys on the table but sees a note on it. He drops his keys and read the note. ‘I have gone to the Devildom to visit, if you need anything, just text me -Love, MC <3′ Ah.. The Devildom.. That wretched place. Where his so called brothers are Where his greed took over him He crumples up the note and tosses it into the garbage, sighing. Even years later, he is still having nightmares about the abuse, still having voices in his head repeating what his brothers had called him. Scumbag Bastard Idiot The silence felt so deafening as Mammon felt himself shake, clutching his head to try and stop the insults from coming back. Only the sound of the fan whirring and the clock ticking filled the air as he stood. He grabs his phone to text MC. Leave them alone You’re such an annoying person Seriously, how does MC deal with you? He took a sharp breath and tried not to let his thoughts get the best of him as he calls MC. The phone rang for a minute or so before MC picked up. “Hey Mammon! Are you back home?” “Yea, I got back a while ago.” “That’s good, I’ll be back s-- Gah! Beel!” There was some noises from the other end, and he wonders what Beel had done, stolen some of Levi’s food? Tried to eat something inedible? Mammon chuckles to himself, thinking of all the possibilities as he heard a sigh. “Sorry, Beel got hungry and almost chowed down on Levi’s game console...” “It’s fine.” Mammon was a bit hesitant to ask how the brothers were, surely they moved on by now.. “Hey uh.. How are they? The others I mean..” “Well, my visits been keeping them sane...” Mammon raises an eyebrow. What did they mean?  “They’re still.. adjusting, Mammon..” Adjusting? Why would they be adjusting? Mammon would assume they already had, it has been a few years after all. “Why?” That’s all he could ask, and that was met with a minute of silence before he heard a sigh. “They are your brothers, and you’ve been with them for centuries.” They say. “I understand your decision, and it’s completely justified, so I’m not going to beg you to come here to visit, or even talk to them.” It may of seemed small, but he really did appreciate it, no one was forcing him to make up with his “brothers”. “I should go, but you can always text or call me if you want to talk more later.” “Alright, thanks.” “Mmhm! Oh, and you’re in charge of making food tonight, and it better not be just cup ramen.” Mammon chuckles and looks at the kitchen. “Yea alright, I promise.” “Good. I’ll talk to you later, bye!” “Bye.” MC hangs up and Mammon sighs, shoving his phone in his pocket. Time to make lunch. --- Few days later, the Purgatory Trio had come to visit, Luke having lots to tell Mammon. He happily listened as they sat in MC’s living room. “The traveling carnival was in the Devildom, MC and the the twins took me there!” “The twins, eh? They always liked that place, no wonder they took ya there.” Mammon wished he could go there again, that was one of the good things about the Devildom. “I forgot to tell you, Mammon.” Simeon smiles, catching his attention. “There’s a long weekend coming up, and the others were hoping you would come visit!” Visiting? After years of zero contact with them? He had gotten better, his mental state had improved to the point he probably could. “I-If you want to of course, I’m sure they would understand if you didn’t!” Simeon laughs awkwardly, waving his hand in the air. “The long weekend is still a little ways away, so you don’t have to make your decision right now.” Solomon interjects. MC and Mammon catch glances, MC having worry in their eyes. “If the brothers do anything that crosses the line, I’ll make sure they stop.” MC says, giving Mammon a bit of hope for the situation. “Thanks uh.. I’ll think about it.” That was the end of that conversation, as MC went on to ask about recipes Luke has learned. Mammon started to zone out a bit. How happy would they be to see their “brother” again? How happy would he be to see them again? Surely by now they learned their lesson. Then he remembered something.. By now, Diavolo would’ve found a replacement, they need a stable government body after all. He wonders how different they are from how he was as an Avatar of Greed. Do they deserve to be in the position? Are they a jerk? ..Are the brothers happier..?

When he’s turned into a human, there’s a few things you immediately notice. Some of the brightness in his eyes has faded with the loss of power and his insignia has faded from your body. He’s calmer (not by a lot lol) and he’s weak for a few days.

But that does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to keep him from your side. He’s clinging to you day and night because this is the first time he can actually hold you without fearing you’ll be taken away from him or him from you.

He’s just so happy.

I don’t like the Angel event but it showed us that as an angel Mammon was very generous, wanting to give rather than receive. But I’d argue he’d be closer to his main story characterization as a human. Lucifer mentions that the first big purchase he made in the Devildom was his car and how he worked honestly to get it. (Though Luci pulled some strings to help.)

Mammon wants to earn money honestly because he wants to prove what a good person he can be! He never enjoyed stealing or scamming but it made quick money and it made him happy at least for a little bit.

But now he’s satisfied. He can relax and enjoy the things he has without jumping to what he wants next. And he wants to enjoy it with you especially.

Mammon would probably continue to be a model bc of his good looks but he’d keep his options open.

He is VERY aware of his suddenly drastically limited lifetime and while he’s glad he gets to spend it with you, living as humans do, he’d rather die that put anything before you.

Modeling is good if you work in a field that’s very time consuming. If he’s not going to be able to see you anyway, he’d like to make money so that he could lavish you when you have time for each other.

Since greed is no longer a major motivator, I think he’d have an easier time with academics (and I think human concepts would be easier to grasp in general lol). So he might consider going to college (especially if you’re going too) and doing something with rehabilitation and helping others.

Either way, you still have lots of influence on him bc he just loves you so damn much and if you want him to live as a human he’s going to live as your human

I think Mammon would be a family man through and through only maybe rivaled by Beel (source: lesson 25)

He’s very doting on you and by extension anything he sees as being part of you. Loves pets and children and the whole idea of being part of your family. He loves feeling accepted.

If your salary and combined savings allow it he’d love to be a stay at home dad. Again awareness of very short lifespan, but also bc he doesn’t really trust anyone with your kid. Unless they’re family he’d rather just hold them and hide in the closet until you force the infant away from him.

He loves his brothers, he really does, but he doesn’t trust them with his kids. Beels hug were painful as a demon so he can imagine how painful they could be to a human - let alone a human baby

I’m pretty sure this is a thing in lots of non-white communities but Mammon would be the dad to buy his baby daughter gold jewelry with her name on it. Gold earrings, bracelets, necklaces - just as a show that he can honestly afford nice things for his family.

Very good at instilling morals and good spending habits in his kids now that he’s gotten a chance to develop them. Sadly they get around that by exploiting his simple desire to spoil his family.

Overall, mammon would be a very lovely human 10000/10
