Now that I'm done with my Avengers series (posting next week), I started to work on a "Human Smaug" piece 🐉 I'm FAR from being done.
I started a sketch...
So I did this in the span of maybe 20 minutes and I have no idea what to do with it now. My first idea was to make this a humanoid Smaug holding the Arkenstone, then the Arkenstone turned into Thorin's soul(because a flower whispered to me that dwarves have precious stones as souls). So you can vote in this poll...
What idea should I do?
Smaug holding the Arkenstone
Smaug holding Thorin's soul stone.
A third idea (reblog and put it in the tags or comment the idea)
For a bigger sample size, please reblog. Thanks!

for every "🌹" received in my inbox i'll post one random sentence of a random WIP i'm currently writing
“You have good traits?” Alina asked, one eyebrow raised. “I have yet to see them.”
From the next part of my Smaug/OFC modern AU series.
Okay, technically, it's two sentences, but what are rules if not things to break?
. . . . . Remember that thing I said I wouldn't do?
Anyways, so. Expect this soon. Y'all won, simps
"She's mine!".
An inhuman growl woke you up with a start.
"You touch her and you're dead!".
"Oh, as if a puny dragon like you can defeat me!".
You rolled your eyes.
....
Could you do anything about being lost finding smaugs castle and staying there, him noticing you and taking a liking in you?
Yes of course! I hope you enjoy it lovely! Have a wonderful day/night ❤️
The cold icy winds blew you toward the dark cave, the only safe haven in sight. Shivering you blew your breath on your bare hands one more time before entering the mouth of the cave, warm light coming from deep within, pulling you inward.
As you continued inward, you noticed that the cave changed. Stone walls turned into stone pillars, the bumpy gravel-filled floor was soon smooth and comfortable to walk upon. Gold glittered around the room, the floor below filled with gold, a treasure beyond belief.
“Oh my…” You whispered, realizing you must have entered a castle of some sort, through a secret cave entrance. Deep within you felt a need to run away, your inner voice screeching that something must be here too, why else would all this gold be here? The icy wind blew once more, causing a shiver to run down your spine.
‘I’ll just sleep and in the morn, when the storm has passed, I shall go on my merry way,’ You thought as you walked further in, the warmth much too tempting to go back out into the bitter snowstorm.
Shuffling around, you let your eyes wander. Cloaks here, goblets there, a stack of books there, a fire pit here, a fire pit there. Your eyes focused on the stack of books sitting next to a fire pit. There was just enough room for someone to lay down, and it wasn’t surrounded by gold like the rest of the room.
A soft smile formed on your face, it looked cozy. Pulling your cloak off, you folded it into a rectangle shape, a small pillow for your head. Carefully laying down, you sighed as you felt your body slowly began to thaw from the cold, the warmth seeping into your bones as you curled up to fall asleep.
Nuzzling closer to cloak, your face softened as you drifted to sleep, completely unaware of the golden eyes watching you with an unreadable expression.
‘She didn’t even linger on the gold… A rare human indeed,’ Smaug thought, his human form leaning against one of the stone pillars, watching from a perch up above his hoard.
“She must’ve gotten in from the cave passage,” He hummed, eyebrow arching for a split second. It was rare for him to have visitors, most being thieves. To see you not even interested in his hoard beside his books, well, that was a rarer sight indeed.
The side of his mouth tugged up into a smile. He didn’t know it yet, but a fondness for you was already developing in his heart. A hole being filled by you.
Your eyes began to flutter, your nose is filled with smells of cinnamon, earl grey, and… dough? Eyes snapping open, you looked around confused. The last you could recall was falling asleep next to a fire, not in an inn where they made breakfast each morning.
Only, you weren’t in an inn. You were where you fell asleep.
Rubbing your eyes you sat up, eyes looking around the room again. Just past the hills of gold lay a kitchen, filled with the glow of a fire cooking breakfast.
“Hello?” You called out, standing up.
“I apologize for trespassing, there was a terrible storm last night and I couldn’t find anywhere else to go,” You apologized as you walked towards the source of the smell. As you grew closer, you saw the kitchen was empty, despite a full meal being placed on the small table with two chairs.
“H-hello?” You called again, worry bubbling up in your stomach.
“Hello,” Smaug’s voice called, a purr lacing in his voice, the warmth of his breath hitting the top of your head.
Turning to face him, “Ah there you are, again I am deeply sorry--- dragon…” You stopped mid-sentence, your eyes growing wide as they looked upon his form.
Smaug chuckled, his chest vibrating a bit as he lowered his head to the ground. “Yes, I am a dragon, a firedrake, a serpent, a hydra, a basilisk,” He gave off the numerous things he’s been called throughout the years as he looked over you. You did seem fearful, but more in awe than the previous humans he’s interacted with in the past.
“-And you are a human. What is your name, human?” Smaug questioned, his voice never wavering from his comforting purr.
“(Name),” You answered with a nervous smile, your eyes locking with his.
“(Name)...” Smaug let your name roll off his tongue, enjoying the way it sounded, delving into his thoughts.
“--I can leave soon, I don’t want to trespass any longer,” He caught you saying as he zoned back into reality.
“Why would you need to leave so soon?” Smaug questioned, fear bubbling up in his chest at the thought of you leaving his domain, into the wild, where you could get hurt or killed. He was scared of losing you, and he wasn’t sure why.
A blush formed on your face as he put his face closer to yours. “I-I thought dragons didn’t like their hoards being trespassed?” You questioned, taking a small step backward.
“That is true, however, you didn’t try to steal, you aren’t a thief,” Smaug hummed, “So, you are now my guest, not a trespasser,” He decided as he nudged you with his head.
“I made you a meal, you must be starving from your journey last night,” Smaug kept nudging you in the direction of the food, just as your stomach growled in agreement, causing a chuckle to leave his throat once more. Your heart fluttered a bit at the soothing sound, not knowing why it was so.
“Thank you,” You didn’t know what else to say as you sat down, looking over all the food.
“Have you eaten?” You questioned before you dug into any of it, despite your mouth watering at the sight.
Smaug was taken aback, he wasn’t used to such questions or care. “I have.” He lied, not wanting to take away anything from you, yet his stomach betrayed him by growling.
“Lies.” You stated, nodding to the other side of the table. “Eat?”
Smaug hesitated before shifting, his human form did give away his dragon features, horns, claws, some scales, but he was definitely small enough to sit across from you and eat. A blush formed on your cheeks as you saw his human form, you could not deny his handsomeness.
Sitting across from you, Smaug gave you a small smile, the two of you soon eating in a comfortable conversation, you asking questions about his adventures, him asking questions about your daily life.
He had taken a liking to you indeed.
“His rage passes description - the sort of rage that is only seen when rich folk that have more than they can enjoy suddenly lose something that they have long had but have never before used or wanted.” -- J.R.R. Tolkien
