If you are brave enough to look at mice, bugs, or any other critters that end up in your home but want to return them to the wild then all you need is an old clear deli container with a lid. Clear is good so you know the critter is in there.
This morning I got to put a usetohold on top of a mouse in the bath tub, slid the lid under it but didn't snap it shut, then while holding the lid took it to a more mouse appropriate part of the neighborhood, put the container down, and backed away.
If you haven't snapped the lid down on the container the critter can open it and free its self.
Gently tossing the container on to grass so it opens upon landing is another viable option.
Humane Mouse Trap
Humane mouse trap come in two distinct categories. The first kind simply catches the mouse, while the second kind delivers an electrical shock, killing on contact. It is the simplest and quickest way to catch the mouse/mice and can be set up anywhere in the house.
Little man has been cONTAINED
We have named him Mr bean because he jumps like a jumping bean and it's p funny.
I’ve had a mice problem for a month or so, So a few weeks ago I bought a humane mouse trap and put it in my bathroom drawer where I was seeing all the mouse poop, but I wasn’t catching any... until this morning there were two of them in the trap. So i let them go in the woods this morning. I just checked again, and there’s another mouse in there!
I’m not bringing it outside until morning, tho, because it’s midnight. The trap is actually a pretty good size so it can run around a little, and there are air holes, so it should be fine in there all night.
Mouse!
Egads! Over the weekend I confirmed my suspicion that we have a mouse in the house. (I tried really hard to logic the mouse away, but it was hard to discount the blur of grey that dashed into my room last night.)
Non-gross mouse education and whining after the cut.
