I have a headcanon that Mouse Trap has always been banned from the Hamato household since Splinter found it offensive post-mutation. It was a rough start to April's Game Night.

Please don't use sticky traps for mice

The owner of the house put up sticky traps for the mice yesterday. In the middle of the night, we found a mouse stuck on the sticky trap still alive, so my roommate took the mouse and the trap outside, and then tried to free the mouse with canola oil. It took around 20 minutes to free the mouse, because whenever he got unstuck, he got stuck again. The mouse was squeaking and crying and his foot appeared to be partially ripped when he tried to escape.

After that, we removed all the sticky traps from the house. I don't know how the homeowner will react in the morning when he sees that we replaced his sticky traps with snap traps.

If you must kill the mice, please use snap traps, as they are instant, effective, reusable, and cheap.
