I'm looking for ARC readers for The Bard of Seven Oaks: Book 1, a humorous, TTRPG-inspired fantasy novel.
The people need a champion of the light. They get a bard. Chouncey of Seven Oaks is many things—a bard, an alcoholic, an unapologetically queer man, and a liar—but to the feared Warchief of the Byrian Isles, Irminric the Black, he’s an escaped slave. A talk about comedy fantasy books.
Good comedy fantasy books are the ones that bring out other emotions besides amusement. It is done best when it does not only induce laughter. A good humorous fantasy book will make you want to throw the book in the wall with misery, will awe you with its inspiring or smart moments, will make you feel like you weren't even reading in the first place.
So. Terry Prachett is not the be all end all. There is more to comedy fantasy than tongue-in-cheek snarky comments and great worldbuilding.
"I'm not a fan of maps" I said and then someone suggested I make a map for Miss Percy's Travel Guide and now I am a hardcore map fan.
I know I don’t share a lot of WIP snippets on here cause I like to keep it under wraps, but here is one of my finished books that I’m very proud of. <3
