When he looked back up at the TV screen, he watched your character fall off the edge. A smirk on his face, he turned to face you. You had a grumpy look clouding your eyes for a moment, and then you sighed, closing your eyes.
“I don't think I found the same shortcut you did…”
Hun poked your cheek. “Don't worry, Y/N, you'll get over it.”
You opened your eyes and grinned. “I'll win next time, for sure.”
Hun waved his hands in the air as if to deny your statement. “Don't flatter yourself,” he said with a final teasing face—tongue out and eyebrows scrunched. “I shall remain unstoppable in Mario Kart.”
“I hate you, you know that?”
“Of course, it's hard not to.”
“I challenge you to a single race; whoever wins gets something from the loser.”
“From the Y/N? That doesn't make any sense-” he said, stopping when you gave him a defiant slap of the arm. “Alright, alright, fine, rrrret’s-”
“Do it again,” you finished resolutely.
Luckily, the track chosen randomly was the one track you could get through without going off-road. You tilted the blue controller in your hands, and occasionally glanced at the corner of the screen beside yours to see you were just behind him—place-wise, at least. You kept that place for two laps, staying silent.
Hun seemed to notice your silence as he crossed the line to start lap 3. “What is it, Y/N?”
“Nothing,” you replied instantly, clearing your throat.
And then there it was—a shortcut! You followed the path and then grinned as you pulled in front of him.
“I won!” you shouted, over-excited as you watched Hun cross the finish line just after you had. He closed his eyes and huffed, clearly disappointed in himself.
“So what do you want fr-”
He was stopped abruptly by your lips on his.
Hun’s eyes flew open. “Y/N, what the heck?”
“Was that dumb?”
His lips twitched, faltering in his words and at the memory of your lips. “If that was supposed to be a for-real kind of thing, it wasn't.”
