❪ 流れ星 ❫ fluff est. rs hweseung x f!reader 633 cw ノ reader is very drunk, kissing, not proofread 〃 ♡ ⸝⸝⸝ FIRST HWESEUNG FIC THIS MAN MAKES ME SICKKKK i love him so bad. / 𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐋𝐎𝐆𝐔𝐄
Your shoulders slump as you sway slightly before losing the strength to support your own body weight. Hweseung has to grab your waist and pull you against him to make sure you don't end up falling over completely.
You're very drunk. So drunk, in fact, that you don't even recognize who he is. You keep instinctively trying to pull away, a pout on your face as you mumble something about having a boyfriend.
You do have a boyfriend—he's standing in front of you right now making sure you don't crack your skull open on the sidewalk, but you have yet to realize that.
When your friend called Hweseung asking him to pick you up she had omitted the fact that you had drunk way beyond your tolerance. He absolutely doesn't mind you having all the fun you want on a Friday night, but he is seriously concerned about keeping your head intact and the massive hangover you will have tomorrow.
When you realize that escaping the man's hold is impossible after a few seconds of struggling, you simply give up and crash into his chest. Hweseung lets out a sigh mixed with fondness and exasperation.
"Don't tell my boyfriend about this. He'll misunderstand," you slur. You're nuzzling your forehead against his sweater despite your words. You seem tired. Hweseung might have to carry you to the car.
"Does your boyfriend get jealous easily?"
You shake your head, voice muffled by soft wool.
"Not… jealous. Protective. He knows whenever I'm… uncomfortable," you smile, looking up at Hweseung. He thinks for a second that maybe you've finally recognized the person you're talking about is the same person holding you, but he's soon proved wrong when you furrow your brows and try to squirm away again.
"Are you uncomfortable cause I'm holding you? You'll fall on your face if I let go," Hweseung says quietly, but with just enough concern in his voice for your brain to try to hold your own weight again. You don't manage it well and give up once again, somehow hugging him even closer than you had before.
"You're… comfy. I won't let go," you whisper. Hweseung chuckles softly.
"Do you recognize me?" he asks.
You pull back, your eyes drawing up to his face. You stare blankly for a moment, then you frown and cup his cheeks, rubbing them softly.
"Squishy."
Your boyfriend thinks you're quite lucky that you're cute while drunk, but his job would definitely be easier if you were a bit more in control of your actions.
"Y/n, you're very drunk. We need to go home so you can sleep," he suggests, rubbing your back. Your face falls at the suggestion and you cling to him closer.
"No," you whine. "Hug me."
"I am hugging you."
"Hug more."
Hweseung complies, squeezing you tightly until you laugh gleefully. His expectations of getting you to the car after the hug are shattered quickly, though. You won't budge unless he hugs you, which soon turns into pleas for kisses. He doesn't mind the taste of alcohol on your lips, but in the back of his head he still wonders whether you've actually recognized him or not. Surely you wouldn't ask a stranger to kiss you? If you remember this tomorrow will you think you accidentally cheated on him… with him?
After nearly twenty minutes of convincing and many, many kisses, your head hurts enough for you to not protest when Hweseung lead you to the car. He buckles your seat belt and pats your head—to which you just look up at him with pleading eyes until he plants another kiss on your forehead.
"Don't drink so much next time," he tells you. He smiles before adding, "And please don't ask for kisses from other men. I will get jealous."
the fresh spring breeze made your laundry rustle on the wind. you took a deep breath, allowing yourself to take a small break from hanging the freshly washed clothing.
the green leaves on the nearby trees were so simple yet brought good mood. they were a reminder how couple days ago the branches were still nude and empty after winter. grass tickled your bare feet and sunshine prickled your skin comfortably.
"hey."
you turned around, hair brushing your neck.
your husband was walking toward you, a big smile on his face.
you resumed hanging clothes on the clothesline, grabbing one of his white shirts. water gently dripped , running down your forearms. you had to stand on your tiptoes to hang the shirt by a yellow clip.
seunghyub watched you carefully, analyzing your focused face.
birds started singing somewhere in the distance.
"what? you just came here to stare?" you asked suddenly, grabbing your sundress.
the scent of the laundry detergent lingered in the air and seunghyub just scoffed, his wedding ring reflecting the sunlight. you had to squint.
"no...oh, well…" he stuttered, loving how your skin absorbed the sun rays, how glowy you looked, how— "your eyes look so beautiful in this lighting"
you giggled, straightening the material of the freshly washed dress.
"you're terrible at flirting" you looked at him and bursted out laughing at his offended.
"hey, i'm not! not my fault my wife is so beautiful!" he stated, grabbing his socks from the laundry basket. you eyed his lean arms for a moment before you continued. "also, if i was terrible at flirting…"
you already knew what was coming and you tried to suppress your grin.
"i wouldn't be calling you my wife now" seunghyub said cheekily, suddenly grabbing you by your waist. you yelped, dropping the laundry.
he spun you around, eyes turning into crescents as he smiled. the fresh spring breeze carried on your laughter, birds chirping along.

Part 1
“Lee Seunghyub, we need to talk!” you called after him.
“You want to talk, and I don’t,” he retorted, his speedwalking starting to turn into jogging, never mind that he was almost to the vending machine.
“Want and need are different!”
“That’s what I’m saying!”
He reached the vending machine and just kept going, to your dismay but not necessarily to your surprise. He was faster than you, but there was no way he was more determined, right?
His lead was considerable and you were not going to shorten it, but that was okay. That was fine, actually. You slowed down to a walk and watched him disappear down the hallway. Once you reached the vending machine, you stopped. You could vaguely see your reflection in the glass, and it…made you see yourself a little bit.
What were you doing, chasing down a boy that didn’t want to talk to you? Except, according to sources that included himself, he really did want to talk to you. He just didn’t think he deserved to. Weird.
But you also had an image fresh in your mind of that same boy looking at you awestruck, complete with the memory of how you sounded together just moments before he had looked at you like that. Honestly, you barely knew him, but something about him was getting you to fall for him time and time again, and it wasn’t just his pretty eyes. What was it, though?
You looked at the contents of the vending machine and sighed. You hadn’t been lying when you said you were picky about soda, and they were out of the few that you would have bought for yourself. Instead, you sat down across the hall from the vending machine, knowing that Seunghyub would come back this way. You were pretty sure he left stuff in the club room that he would have to come back for sooner rather than later.
Taking the chance to reflect, you tried to pinpoint exactly what it was you liked about him. He had never exactly been nice to you other than just a minute ago, so it wasn’t the way he treated you, for sure. His eyes were pretty, he had a gorgeous smile whenever he decided to show it, and he had an amazing voice. He was smart, he was skilled, and it seemed like he was usually a good friend. He was kinda clumsy, and pretty cute when he was embarrassed…maybe the real pull was that people kept saying he liked you.
But what was any of that really worth? If he wouldn’t talk to you one on one for even a moment, what was the point of all this work to get close to him?
You closed your eyes for a moment and rubbed your temples, and it was just a split second after you did that that you were startled by something cold touching your arm. You flinched and opened your eyes to find that the cold thing touching your arm was a soda can, and as you looked upward, you found that the person offering it to you was none other than Lee Seunghyub himself.
“I’m sorry,” he apologized sheepishly, characteristically avoiding your gaze. “We…should talk about this.”
The soda was one of the sodas you did like. How did he know that, and where did he get it?
He took a seat on the floor next to you. “To be honest…on the way here today, I noticed this machine was out of the ones you buy,” he said, answering the question you hadn’t even asked yet. “So I looked around to see if there was another machine that did have one. I wanted to apologize properly.”
Your tally of things you liked about him was starting to take real shape. 1) He was observant and 2) he was thoughtful, even if he was, well, (2.5?) sort of thoughtless in actually carrying out his plans.
He offered you the soda again, and this time he looked over and met your eyes. “I’m sorry for being a jerk all this time.” His gaze flickered down to the floor, but he ultimately kept eye contact as he continued. “You didn’t do anything to deserve the way I treated you, and I’m sorry. I really don’t have any good excuse.”
It might take him a while, but 3) he knew how to acknowledge when he was in the wrong and take responsibility for his actions.
You couldn’t help but smile as you accepted his peace offering. “I’ll be able to forgive you, I think,” you said coyly.
“You think so?” he responded, still with full sincerity.
“There might be a condition,” you said with a shrug, setting the soda down on the ground on the opposite side from him.
“I guess I deserve that,” he acknowledged nervously, now turning his attention to his hands in front of him.
You scooted a little closer to him, not sure if the sound you heard was his heart pounding or yours. “If I wanted to do this every once in a while,” you said, leaning your head against his shoulder, “would that be okay?”
His breathing all but stopped, and you wondered for a moment if you were going too fast. After all, you hadn’t even actually talked yet. Maybe you should have clarified how he felt first—
He leaned to rest his head lightly on top of yours. “If this would be okay, too, then I think it would be fine,” he replied shyly.
Oh. Wow. Okay, win. Maybe time for another venture.
“It’s okay with me,” you said, amazed at how outwardly bold and inwardly shy you could be at the same time. “And…maybe you could record with me, too.”
“Hmm?” He sat up straight again and you both turned to look at each other more easily. “Your song? Are you sure?”
You nodded hesitantly. “It’s not supposed to be a duet, but I want it to be now. It just,” you paused, trying to find words to explain. You couldn’t find any. “It was so nice.”
He nodded. “It was.”
One of the classroom doors close to the vending machine opened up, and the hall suddenly filled with the noise of students that had been sitting quietly for too long.
You both realized that you were sitting on the ground, very much in the way of anyone trying to get by—both a strange sight and a nuisance. Like lightning, he was already standing up and offering you his hand to help you up as well.
You grabbed your soda in one hand and took his with the other, and then—you couldn’t believe how smooth this was—you didn’t let him let go once you were on your feet. Instead, you quickly adjusted your hand so that you could walk back to the club room together comfortably. You could tell he was a bit surprised, but he didn’t try to pull away at all.
So you walked back to the club room together hand in hand.
—
You weren’t necessarily keeping this development secret, but you weren’t going around telling everyone, either. After all, this was new, and it still felt kind of fragile. You sort of regretted not taking the opportunity to solidly define your relationship, as you hadn’t had another opportunity in the week or so since.
You were actively spending time together, though. Unfortunately, even the time or two you had planned for it to just be the two of you, one of your friends always miraculously showed up. That was always the end of holding hands, of sitting closer together than friends would, or of the resting smile that would take over his face when it was just you. You were sure that your friends were catching on, though—it was harder to hide the smile in his eyes.
One time he waited for you outside the building you had a class in so you could walk to the club room together. You hadn’t exactly asked him to do it, but you told him where you would be and when you would be there as part of a conversation, and he had taken the hint himself. There were plenty of others around, and while you wouldn’t have minded holding hands on the way there, you also knew that if one of the other club members saw you walking together, holding hands or not, they would know something was up.
Taking it slow wasn’t something you had an issue with. Probably. You were just a little worried that something would happen to reverse the progress you had made before you developed further.
You walked together, taking your time and chatting about your classes that you were both just getting out from, but the back of your mind was alight with different ways you could bring up the conversation you wanted to have: what were you, exactly? Maybe that conversation would help you figure out some other boundaries, too.
“Can I carry your backpack for you?” he offered suddenly.
Although you were usually used to its weight, your backpack now felt especially heavy as your attention was drawn to it. “Are you sure? It’s not light,” you warned him.
He shrugged. “I can take it.”
You quirked an eyebrow in amusement and started slipping it off, one shoulder at a time. “I won’t say—”
Your water bottle slipped out of the worn side pocket and landed on the sidewalk with a clang that startled not only the two of you, but those around you as well. As luck would have it, someone else accidentally kicked it and sent it rolling away from you faster than should have been possible.
Still holding your backpack and apologizing to everyone around you, you chased after your escaping water bottle. With just a few feet to go, someone finally stopped it, lifting the front of their shoe and trapping it. You were too embarrassed to look at their face, so you just bent down to grab it and tried to tell them thank you.
Instead, they shifted their shoe to put more weight on your water bottle, and it didn’t budge when you tried to pick it up. You tugged again without thinking about it, but it still didn’t move. Confused, you finally looked up and met the eyes of the self-righteous girl who had captured your water bottle.
“Look at you, making such a ruckus when everyone’s trying to get to class,” she sneered, looking down at you in both senses of the phrase.
You backed off a little from retrieving your water bottle. “Sorry, it definitely wasn’t on purpose,” you explained, trying not to mirror her condescending tone. What was she so worked up about this for? Clearly you weren’t trying to cause a tripping hazard.
“You should be more careful,” she chided you as she glanced up and behind you. “Both with your belongings and the company you choose.”
You followed her gaze back to Seunghyub, standing frozen just a short distance away. No way, was she…
Deciding you were done with this, you wrenched your water bottle out from underneath her foot and stood up. Now standing at her level, or, well, a bit taller than her, actually, you could actually get a good look at her. People said you looked like her, but as someone who looked at your own face in the mirror every day, you wouldn’t say that she really looked that much like you. Maybe that was because you had decided a long time ago that you didn’t like her.
She recovered her balance quickly, hardly losing face at all. That bugged you more. Perhaps sensing your annoyance, she smirked. “You’re a bit of a mess, but I guess I’ll tell you this out of a sense of duty; as a fellow woman.”
“I’m not sure I care to hear it,” you replied sharply, confidently taking a few steps backward and turning back toward Seunghyub.
“It’s only a matter of time before he gets bored and leaves you behind, too,” she called, and you were sure you weren’t the intended target of her words.
You kept your back turned and swallowed every half-baked retort you wanted to throw back at her. Fuming, you practically stomped the few steps back to where Seunghyub still stood motionless on the path back to the club room building. He had this hollow, faraway look in his eyes that didn’t go away even when he did look at you. You couldn’t give him a hug in front of everyone like this—you hadn’t even hugged him in private—but you were tempted to.
He turned and started walking slowly with you. You didn’t know the best way to deal with this, and you hoped he would give you some clues. You fiddled with your water bottle as you thought.
He reached out and touched your hand and your water bottle at the same time, turning both to reveal a new and unsightly scratch on the outside of the water bottle. His steps slowed to a stop, and you followed suit, trying to think of anything to say that would help dispel the gloomy tension.
“It’s scratched,” he muttered, running his fingers over the uneven surface. You could only guess what he was thinking.
You were still fighting down your anger, but you tried to soften your demeanor for him, hoping that drawing attention away from the situation would help for now, at least. “Hey, let’s go to the club room, okay?” you suggested, reaching out to touch his arm or maybe take his hand.
He shrank away from you, and you felt your heart drop. “I have to go take care of something,” he said quietly, his head hanging, and you knew it was a lie. “I’ll meet you there soon.” You knew that was a lie, too, but you pretended to trust him anyway, despite wondering if that would backfire later.
“Okay,” you said, trying to muster a smile. “Hopefully Hwiyoung brought my microphone back so we can try recording.”
He looked down at his shoes. “My voice isn’t in very good condition today.”
“Oh.” The silence hung in the air. You realized if you let him go and he didn’t come later, he would probably blame himself and affirm his belief that he wasn’t good enough. He still stood there, though, almost like he was waiting for your permission to leave. You had to grab whatever opportunity you could. “Honestly, I don’t really want to go to the club room, then. Can I go with you?”
“No, you can’t,” he snapped, his tone sharp, but his volume growing softer.
This was falling apart fast, and you didn’t know how to save it. “Why not?” you asked before you could filter out the question.
He looked once again at the scratch on your water bottle and took a breath. “I told you this wouldn’t work out well. We should stop before it gets worse.”
With that, he walked away, leaving you alone on the sidewalk with nowhere to go. You felt like anything you did now would make everything worse—if you followed him, you were clingy and couldn’t take no for an answer. If you stayed, you were giving up on him. If you went to the club room now, that made you a liar.
You saw that awful girl in the distance, laughing as one of her friends pointed at Seunghyub walking away alone. She turned around to try and find out where you had gone, and although she was far away, you could have sworn you saw her smile in satisfaction that she had broken you two up. You hoped she would get burned by the lasers you shot at her from your eyes.
Yeah, you had no idea what to do now, but you had another goal now. You were going to put her in her place, somehow. Only in order to do that, you needed to know exactly what she said to him in order to break him like that.
You turned on your heel and headed for the club room. Heaven knew you were gonna need all the help you could get.
It was a Saturday afternoon and Jaehyun had no practice or music shows scheduled. He did, however, have a schedule to record videos with Chahun for 2 Idiots. He hasn’t told her that detail yet and he was sitting on the couch, listening to all the things she had planned for the two of them to do together. Jaehyun’s expressive face showed a mixture of pain and horror as he watched her pace the living room, counting the activities on her fingers.
She finishes her small agenda before jumping on the couch next to him. Her hands rest on his knee as she looks at him with adorable eyes, making him feel even worse about what he was going to say next.
“I have to record 2 Idiots today.” He tells her, smiling nervously at her as he placed his hand over the ones that rested on his leg.
Her face fell, and Jaehyun panicked.
“This won’t be my only free day, I promise next one we can do all those things!” He listed off the things she had mentioned prior, watching as her eyes watched him with sadness. After he finished naming everything she did he looked at her.
“Okay?” He asks, afraid he had made her mad.
She nods before speaking to clarify. “It wasn’t about the activities... I just wanted to see you.”
Her voice was quiet and it made Jaehyun’s heart break. He pulls her into his lap, wrapping his arms around her. He can feel her shake lightly, knowing she was holding in tears which just made him feel like the devil.
She lifts herself from his body, prospering herself up on his stomach. “Go and make sure you have fun.” She smiles, but her sadness was still evident.
Jaehyun’s mood had dropped and he really didn’t want to play couple Jenga with Chahun right now. He watches her scratch her eye as if it was itchy, but he knew she did that to wipe tears away.
Suddenly, Jaehyun breaks out into a smile. He squeals as he grabs her face and uses his thumbs to poke her cheeks repeatedly.
“Come to record with me!”
“What? Jaehyun, I can’t.”
“Why not? It’s a chill environment, the camera crew won’t mind if you’re there and we can eat snacks and tickle each other during breaks and you can see me for hours!”
She giggles at his excitement. “Chahun won’t mind?”
“Chahun loves you, of course he won’t mind. Plus you can get jealous when I have to hug Chaun lovingly and then you will force me into cuddles and kisses when we get home.”
She rolls her eyes as she kisses his mouth. “You don’t have to make me jealous to get kisses and cuddles.”
“I just like to make you jealous.” He smiles before kissing her again. “Please come.”
