Well let's hope that as I continue to use you,
these suggestions will improve. Because this list gave me something of a mini heart attack. A sitting-at-home, up-too-late, playing-with-new-websites-for-too-long, i-need-to-see-actual-people sort of heart attack. And when you get annoyed at what a bot/algorithm "thinks" of you, you know it's probably time to hunker down with a glass of something bubbly and a pilot episode of a promising new TV show. Right after you blog about it, natch.
So here is what Hunch.com suggested for me tonight as "topics of interest" that will "enhance my web experience":
Translations of the Bible
Let's go one by one. Artisan food producers are a huge no, what with my seething hatred of foodie culture and all. Baby Strollers, aw COME ON! Cause I'm pretty sure I answered "single" and "number of babies in my household=zero." Classical Piano Pieces are actually relevant, so we're at 10%. Web Design Books strike me as hilariously paradoxical, for one, and no, for two. Domain Registrars? I'm picturing the incredibly boring office on campus where you go to whine about how you tried to drop a class, but you couldn't, and now you're getting a bad grade, and some overpaid administrative assistant to the Dean yells at you about how it was actually your fault. Only, more boring, cause this one doesn't involve a bad outfit to secretly mock and instead involves REGISTERING YOUR DOMAIN. Which is endlessly entertaining. Inspirational videos and Translations of the Bible?? Cause I'm pretty sure I checked the "Urban" and "Not very religious" boxes too. Blu-ray Players? Cause 2006 called and it wants its hip new technology back? And cause anyone even uses DVDs anymore?! And cause you can figure out that I'm of prime child-bearing age but you can't figure out that I have no use for a Blu-ray player, Mr. Depresso-Bot?? And finally, I will concede 20% accuracy with "Technology Writers." Sure, I would click that. But honestly, the rest of these are hurting dot com. If I had seen "Superbowl Analysis" and "King of Queens Box Set" I think I'd be slightly more annoyed. But STILL.
Anyway. Let's hope Hunch is all it's cracked up to be, and that this is just a bump in the road. Ahem.
