Brainstorming lore will always be one of my favorite things to do 🥰
So there have been updates to my hunter's lore!
-After the events at Castle Schrade, she decided she wanted a more peaceful life. So she boarded a ship and left the new world, landing in Kamura. Despite the more violent monsters, she decided to stay, as it reminded her of her birthplace of Yukumo.
-She is no longer in a relationship.
-Upon arriving in Kamura, she was gifted with a Palamute pup, which she named Maggie. Maggie is her trustworthy and loyal steed, and assists in larger group based hunts. Minu is still with her too, but comes along on solo missions (he's getting a bit old).
-In addition to using bow and hammer, she also uses switch axe and charge blade. She mostly switches between hammer and switch axe though (she prefers the quick in/out fight style).
-Along with Minu, her Khezu whelp followed snuck over to Kamura with her and has grown considerably (think monstie sized). She named them Noodles and refers to them as her "emotional support Khezu." Noodles is hidden in a cave system near the training grounds in the village.
-Her attire has somewhat changed; she wears Kulu based gear with leather gloves/boots and a Wroggi helm. Perfect for scouting through the harsh wilds surrounding Kamura. (This will probably change again depending on the aesthetics Sunbreak introduces).
Hunter Headcanons
Okay, let’s talk about like...hunter culture headcanons.
Let’s talk about what hunter culture is like. I would assume there’s some pretty disparate subcultures too -- between independent hunters like Sam and Dean Winchester, and then more organized ones like the British Men of Letters. I suppose government sponsored ones like the Initiative would be different too, and so would religious organizations like the Order of the Cruciform Sword.
So. Tell me what you think those cultures are like. Any details you can think up, let your imaginations go wild!
Lore Fact of the Week #12
The Nightborne haven’t produced bows in Suramar for centuries [NPC: Silgryn Dialogue]. Victoire suggests that the Nightborne never embraced the bow because they’re such primitive instruments compared to arcane magic [NPC: Victoire Dialogue].
The few Nightborne hunters (known as Nighthuntresses) that do exist are survival hunters, meaning they have abandoned long-range weapons like the bow in favor of close-range combat with melee weapons [NPC: Nighthuntress Syrenne].
Supernatural Comics
So I thought everyone would like the links to the Supernatural Comics series, I found them after my local store had difficulty sourcing them.
Supernatural: Origins is, as the title suggests, an 'origins' story about how John Winchester became a hunter (within a pre-series time frame). Narratively, it begins as a flashback at the end 1.01 Pilot. The story is told from a variety of viewpoints, encompassing a range of characters fans are already familiar with (such as Missouri Mosely, Ellen, and of course a young Dean and Sam).
Here
Supernatural: Rising Son is set a few years after Origins, the story picks up with an 11-year-old Dean and a 7-year-old Sam traveling with their father, John. "Whereas the first series was more about John and his becoming a hunter, this one's much more of a dysfunctional-family story. We're really going to explore the differences between Sam and Dean in this one. Dean is becoming aware of what his dad's up to and we'll see him training and hunting a little bit, while John will start to key in on something different about Sam."
Here
Supernatural: Beginings End picks up several years after the Rising Son miniseries, the Winchester clan find themselves in the strangest situation imaginable; monster hunting in the Big Apple! The definitive events that led to Sam leaving his family to attend Stanford, this gripping and horrifying story, courtesy of television series writers Andrew Dabb and Daniel Loflin, will explore the raw nerves of what makes the Winchesters unique and volatile.
Here
Supernatural: Caledonia is set during Sam Winchester's time at Stanford, the would-be hunter travels to Scotland. There, he encounters the alluring "Emma of the Isles," sparking the first team-up of American and European hunters!

Yeah, it's one of these (but much like her braids, super simplified for speed/style's sake)
