Hi I just wanted to say i love ur bad batch reader insert posts!!! Do you think you could do one of how they respond to the reader's body image issues? Thanks so much for your service 😭

Hunter: Will pick up on certain things. He gets a feel for what's bothering you when you don't respond to his compliments. It's only at particular times, and he'll finally decide to tentatively ask what's going on. He'll listen to whatever it is that you're insecure about patiently, but is right there with reassurance. He knows that words can only go so far, but now that he's aware, he can be more intentional about it. He's nurturing and supportive without coddling.

Wrecker: Is in absolute disbelief when you tell him about your insecurities. He's rather comfortable with himself and loves who he is despite things that others have taunted him for, and he adores you. He chuckles warmly after your confession and assures you that you're absolutely beautiful. He doesn't want to undermine your feelings in any way, but hearing his chuckle, knowing that something that seemed so major to you wasn't that big of a deal to him helped.

Tech: Can't quite understand at first. You are loved by the Bad Batch, and you have his love, so why were you struggling with it? He comes to understand when you explain, and his no-nonsense way of responding ends up being quite sweet and romantic. Tech is not one to fudge facts or skirt around the truth, so his compliments and assurances are genuine and straight from the heart.

Echo: If anyone could grasp body image issues, it's him. In front of others, he took his own changes in stride... but every now and then, he'd let you in on the truth that deep down it is still a struggle. What he can't grasp is why you feel the way you do when you are so absolutely gorgeous and make him feel like the luckiest guy in the galaxy. He lets you know on the daily just in case you weren't sure.

Crosshair: He listens in silence as you tell him your insecurity. When you've told him, he pauses for a few seconds and utters, "you done?" He'll tell you straightaway what he thinks, that you are beautiful and how you make him feel like he has to protect you. He's not one for words, but he continues to let you know in his own way how important you are to him with gestures of affection.

asking anonymously cus it’s embarrassing but if u want a little prompt i would absolutely die to hear hunter tell reader he’s proud of her. i don’t even care what the plot is i just never get to hear that and project onto fictional characters lmao.

You laid down on the cot, sighing softly. You closed your eyes, weary from the day and the mission. An exhale escaped you, but the wear and tear did not leave your body in any capacity.

Your arms folded softly to your chest and you sunk as much as you could into the bed, body loosening against the gentle rising depths of sleep.

The bed shifted. You felt a source of warmth tug you softly and you sighed in content, unfolding an arm and allowing Hunter to lay his head on your chest. His breathing was soft- gentle. You liked his arms, and the way they held you, those arms could hold and love you like no one else.

He kissed you. His lips pressed to your neck, the skin just above your body glove, tender. A little giggle sounded and you felt him smile against you.

"Hey, darling."

"Mm?" You tugged clasped fingers on the lock of his hair tenderly, encouraging him to lay back down.

Hunter kissed your hand before laying down again. "You did good out there today." He paused, fingers playing on your ribs, and you could feel sleep crawl up his body as well. "I know I don't say it a lot, talking just isn't my... Anyways," He yawned, nuzzling against you. "I need to make a point of saying it more."

Yawns had always been contagious for you, and a deep one rattled your chest. "You did good too."

His breath was warm, and the pressure of his body against you soothes you, a comforting weight. "I'm proud of you, I'm so proud, and I love the person you have become after all... This."

A little chuckle interrupted your path to sleep. "Thank you, Hunter. It... Means a lot."

Your lips pressed in his hair and he sighed, tenderly, hugging you just a little bit tighter tonight as you lulled into a much deserved sleep- he would be here in the morning, as he always was.

(The Bad Batch) Hunter x Reader: Worried

Warnings: Mentions events that took place in "The Crossing", Kissy

“You’ve been awfully quiet.”  The low rumble of his voice echoed softly in your ear.  As his gloved hand sought yours, you released a sigh, shoulders sinking in relief as his presence soothed your nerves.

You took note of Wrecker hauling a boulder on the other side of the dimly-lit tunnel, granting you and Hunter a moment to converse in some semblance of privacy.

“Omega and Tech have been gone for a while,” you said finally.  “I just hope everything’s okay.”

Hunter clasped his hand over your own, giving it a reassuring squeeze.  You relished the contact, leaning into his side. 

“They’ll check in soon.”

His profile betrayed no underlying fear.  No uncertainty.  Even while Cid’s bogus mission went awry, getting worse and worse by the hour, he’d hardly looked phased.  It was a wonder.

When the ship was stolen and the crew broke out into debates about who was at fault, he calmly redirected the team’s energy with the simple statement that arguing was not helping the situation.

While Wrecker grumbled and griped about how long it would take to dig your way out from the collapsed tunnel, Hunter made the argument that complaining would not make it go any faster.

He was right in both cases, and yet even you could not stave off the doubts that crept into your mind.  Would you all make it out in one piece?  Could you get the Marauder back?  How many failed missions would it take for Cid to turn on the lot of you?  And now, would Tech and Omega be alright?

His level-headed nature was almost enough to convince you there was no reason to be concerned. 

Almost.

Hunter turned to face you completely, the corner of his lips turning up.  “Everything will be alright.”  His brown eyes searched your face, measuring your expression, hopeful that his words put you at ease.

A familiar, nagging thought crept its way back in.  You felt the need to pout under his gaze, lifting a brow.

His amusement grew at your shift as you pulled away slightly.  “What?”

“You don’t exactly reassure the others this much.”

Hunter leaned forward, countering your withdrawal by gently pulling you back into his space, so that you had nowhere to look but at him.  You met his eyes and felt helplessly drawn in at the tenderness they held.  “The others don’t quite worry like you do, sweetheart.”

Your lips parted with a reply that itched to be heard, but you couldn’t bring yourself to utter it.  As much as you wanted to protest, his statement wasn’t exactly inaccurate.  Besides, it was hard to argue when his lips found your neck.

“I just…don’t want you to think I can’t handle things like the rest of you,” you breathed, hands gripping broad shoulders as he trailed a series of soft kisses toward your ear.  

There.  You’d said it.  The thing that had been weighing on you for quite some time.  The reason that you’d fallen silent in the last few hours.

“Not for a second,” he murmured.  “You are one of the strongest people I know.  I actually think it’s…adorable how you worry for everyone.”

“Adorable?”  You hadn’t expected to hear that word from him, huffing quietly.  “Yeah, right.”  Your breath hitched in your throat when he nuzzled against the base of your neck.

“Utterly.”  His tone was heavy with sincerity.

“Well,” you exhaled slowly.  “I was not aware of that.”

“You look after each member of the squad in a way we’ve never been looked after before,” he continued, lifting his head to meet your gaze once more.  “Before you came along, do you think anyone worried about us?”

His question pierced you like a blade.  Before you joined, the squad had been on mission after mission, taking on the riskiest of tasks for the sake of the Republic… without anyone to worry besides each other. 

You buried your face in his chest, squeezing him tighter as he sighed.  “Either way, it’s only a matter of time until we’re out of here and find a transport.”

“Uh yeah,” Wrecker interjected, huffing.  “You guys done?  We’ve still got a lot of boulders to move.”

You and Hunter separated, him rolling his eyes while you smiled apologetically.  “Sorry, Wreck.  You’re doing a great job.”

“Yeah, yeah.”  He waved your comment off humorously and stepped aside so you could join him at the wall of collapsed rock.  You nudged him and knelt down to start rolling the nearest one, stealing a look at Hunter.

The sergeant was at your side in a moment to help, and just like that, you were dead set on getting out.

(The Bad Batch) Hunter x Reader: Stay

(Author's Note: Just a little short!! Enjoy!!)

You were doing a walkthrough aboard the Marauder to ensure that everything was functioning as it should, a favor you volunteered to do for Tech. There were no flashing lights or beeping instruments; however, there was one thing that wasn't quite to your liking. Hunter was planted in one of the seats, head leaned back, with his eyes scrunched shut as if in deep concentration or possibly pain. The sight made your heart ache.

"Are you okay?" you asked gently.

Without opening his eyes, he gave a small nod. "Just a headache." Your eyes softened at his admission. It wasn't uncommon for him to get headaches with his set of special skills, but it never failed to stir compassion in you.

You reached out a hand to cup his cheek. He leaned into your touch instantly, the stubble of his cheek brushing your palm. "Is there anything I can do for you?"

He opened his brown eyes then to meet your tender gaze. "Actually..." He began in a low voice, nearly a whisper. "Will you stay for a minute?"

You couldn't say no to such a request from him that was spoken with vulnerable honesty, even if you wanted to. You moved to stand behind his chair, wrapping your arms around his neck and resting your chin on top of his head. A deep sigh escaped the sergeant as the weight of the world lifted from his shoulders. You shifted to hold onto him tighter.

"It's going to be okay, love." You pressed a kiss to his temple and remained there, exhaling quietly against his ear. His muscles loosened as he relaxed into your embrace. Finally, he angled his head to meet your lips in a kiss, a heartfelt gesture of gratitude. You brushed your palm against his cheek once more.

"I need to finish this walkthrough, but when I'm done, I'll be right back."

"Alright." The subtle reluctance in Hunter's tone made you smile.

"It'll only be a few minutes."

"Of course, do what you need to." He kissed the back of your hand as you extricated yourself from the cuddle. "Hurry back."

"You've got it, Sarge."

(The Bad Batch) Preferences- You Tell Him He Makes You Feel Safe

Wrecker:  His broad chest would puff out as he grins, but on the inside, he would melt at your words.  The macho act would last for about two seconds before you can count on him getting all soft.  It would really mean a lot to Wrecker, and he’d show it by pulling you close to gaze down at you with tender eyes, giving you delicate kisses that quickly got more intense.

Hunter:  He can already tell you feel safe with him.  He notices the little things, how you let your guard down a little around him because you know he’ll protect you.  Even so, hearing you tell him that he makes you feel safe will do something to him.  Hunter would give you one of those rare smiles, brow raised, as he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you closer, saying, ”yeah?”  Expect some heated kisses.

Tech: He wasn’t entirely sure why, but the statement makes him feel so very manly.  He’d subconsciously puff out his chest a little as he walks over to stand directly in front of you.  The whole squad was composed of individuals that were strong and skilled, but you telling him he made you feel safe?  Him specifically?  It made Tech feel special.  He’d smile and lean in to kiss you right then and there, whispering that he would keep you safe.

Echo:  This man would definitely melt at your statement.  He’d be putty.  If he was in a particularly grumpy mood because of the squad’s antics, and you caught him off-guard with that, the things that made him gruff would be quickly forgotten.  Your statement would make Echo feel like a man.  Not just any man, but the man.  Be ready for some kisses the first moment you had alone.

Crosshair: He’s a man of few words, so he takes them seriously.  If you told him that you felt safe with him,  that would basically be the equivalent of an “I love you” in his book.  It would mean a lot to him, and he might not know how to respond verbally right away, but Crosshair would definitely show you what it meant to him with kisses.  Just a warning: if you dropped this statement in the middle of a kiss session, he would go feral.

(“Regs” and The Bad Batch)  What They Call Their SO

(OC Request:  Hey, Rainy!!! 💖 I was wondering, could you pleease do some HCs/whatever of nicknames the "regs" and Bad Batchers would use for their lovely ladies?)

“Regs”

Rex: In the beginning he is rigid and doesn’t call you anything but your name out of fear he’ll accidentally let it slip in front of someone else.  Eventually he warms up to the idea and starts calling you sweet things like “darling” or “love” when you’re alone. 

Cody: He’d have a few up his sleeve, usually something specific to you.  (ex. “My brown eyed girl” if you have brown eyes, or “blondie” if you’re blonde, etc.).  Although sometimes he’ll simply call you “beautiful.”

Fives: He LOVES terms of endearment both for himself and for his SO.  He uses a few classics like “baby” and “babe” or sometimes “gorgeous.”  When he’s in a particularly good mood, he’ll call you “my one and only.”

Wolffe:  He thinks of one that suits you and sticks with it, usually saving it for rare occasions and also when he’s in a very good mood or is worried for your safety.  Something surprisingly tender like “flower” or “sweetheart.”

Howzer (because why not?): He likes classically romantic names like “my dear.”  On rare occasions when he’s feeling more relaxed, he’ll call you “babe.”  One time he tried “baby” and it sounded so strange coming from him that you both cringed, but then you laughed it off.

Bad Batch

Hunter: He has a few, each for different moods.  When he’s feeling particularly affectionate, he’ll call you something romantic like “star.” Other times when he’s addressing you more casually in private, he’ll call you “sweetheart.”

Crosshair: Doesn’t use terms often, but when he does, he calls you “mine.”  Sometimes he’ll use variations with that attached, like “darling mine.”

Echo: He’s a gentleman and will call you “milady” when others are around, but when you’re alone he likes to use something more intimate like “lover.” 

Tech: He is quite into terms of endearment and definitely goes for the romantic ones like “love” and “dear.”  He’ll sprinkle them into conversations every now and then, though isn’t super excessive- just enough to make it special. 

Wrecker: He definitely uses ones like “cutie” or “sweetie” pretty often.  When he’s in a more romantic mood, he’ll throw in a “beautiful girl.”

(The Bad Batch) Preferences: How They Feel About Affection

(OG Request: Request for how bad batch would try to be sneaky for sexy time while with their significant other?

Heyo! I keep my blog SFW, but I have to say that I do like exploring the idea of the guy's attempts to be discreet about affection in general and kissy kissy, so I made preferences to kind of cover that.

Hunter: Feels he has to set somewhat of an example of professionality, so he is extra careful about that sort of thing. Definitely does not want his squad to catch their sergeant in the middle of a kiss session. Wrecker for sure wouldn’t refrain from some jokes about it, so Hunter prefers to be discreet. He shows affection with his eyes, often shooting you a loving gaze or meeting your eyes to roll his playfully when the squad is acting up. He saves kisses and embraces for when you’re alone, usually when the others are off the ship or asleep.

Crosshair: He is super private about these matters. The thought of anyone catching him is mortifying, so he is extra careful about engaging you in kisses. He isn’t overly affectionate in general when in front of the others. He hovers; close enough to protect you and let you know he’s there, but far enough to avoid a lot of suspicion. When it comes to kisses, he likes to save them for when the others for sure won’t bother you, when they’re off the ship or sleeping. You know he’s having a bad day if he pulls you aside to a secluded part of the ship for some kisses even when the others are around- sometimes he just needs you that much.

Wrecker: This man has many strengths, but subtlety is not one. He tries to keep things on the down-low; however, it definitely doesn’t always play out that way. He’s a very affectionate person. We see him on screen playfully punching or wrestling his squad quite often, and with a significant other, it’d be difficult for him to not hold their hand, give them affectionate nudges, or wrap them up in hugs often. He does try to refrain from kissing until you’re alone, but he forgets and let’s it slip sometimes. He gets a little too caught up in the moment if he’s happy to see you or is relieved you’re safe after a mission.

Tech: Contact with you in front of the others is minimal, though not exactly nonexistent. It’s the small gestures; placing a hand on the small of your back as he squeezes past you from behind on the ship, touching shoulders when sitting next to each other, or other little things like brushing your hair from your eyes or adjusting your gear before a mission. With so many people aboard one ship, he expects things to happen. He expects at some point the two of you would get caught in a kiss session, so he doesn’t get too flustered about it; though he still tries his best to be discreet.

Echo: He strives to be discreet. Part of it is just him being a gentleman, and the other part is his insecurities. He doesn’t want his relationship to be on display, some sort of oddity for others to gawk at, considering what he’s been through and his change in appearance. The squad would definitely be respectful (aside from Wrecker’s good-natured teasing), but Echo still feels like he’d rather keep things private. He is quietly affectionate, sometimes taking your hand and looking into your eyes. When it comes to kisses, he won’t do it in a common area where anyone could walk up at any point, but he doesn’t mind pulling you aside if the others are preoccupied.
