Hunter: He adores them and spends a lot of time holding them. Hunter is also really big on the whole skin-to-skin contact, so it becomes a common thing to see him walking around shirtless with the baby cradled snugly in one arm. He gets pretty good at performing tasks around the home with the baby. He's enraptured by the little one, but also very attentive to your needs. Hunter makes sure you take the time you need to eat, shower, and just have time to relax every now and then. Literally, any excuse to hold them some more, and he's giving it. He is good at rocking the baby in such a way that they fall asleep instantly in his arms.
Wrecker: The baby has him wrapped around their tiny finger already. He's already telling them how much he loves them and how proud he is. Wrecker also just spends time telling them all the fun things they're going to do together when they're old enough to walk, talk, etc. He is so unbelievably gentle and sweet with the little one in general, and also of course with you. He'll randomly stare at you and tell you how beautiful you are and what a good job you're doing.
Tech: This baby is not at the point where they can retain any information yet, but Tech spends plenty of time just talking to them. He talks about anything his mind can conjure up. The baby becomes so accustomed to the sound of his voice that it has quite the soothing effect. Additionally, Tech is very quick to pick up on the baby's cycle of needs. It gets to the point where they cry, and he can glance at his chrono and pinpoint exactly what they need according to the little schedule he's created. He also regularly checks the baby's weight, vitals, to make sure they're in good health. From time to time he voices yet again how fascinating the miracle of birth is and how proud he is of you, also checking your health.
Echo: Spends the first few weeks only holding the baby when sitting down. He can't get over how fragile they are, and he just sits there and stares at them as long as he can in amazement and adoration before they wake up from their nap or fuss about something they need. When the baby bursts into a fit of wails, he goes into a bit of a panic mode worrying about what's wrong. Eventually, he gets more comfortable and gets used to the idea that the baby is just communicating a need. It doesn't take long for him to become a professional dad. He gets pretty organized with the diaper bag and supplies so that he can just pull out whatever the baby needs at the drop of a hat.
Crosshair: He spends a good while just quietly holding the baby in his arms and watching them. Internally, he thinks they're absolutely precious and realizes he loves them so much. He already knew he'd love them, but he didn't realize it would feel like this. The baby is heart-wrenchingly cute, and he'd do anything to protect them. You come to find that he becomes more vocal, telling the baby in a sort of Crosshair-style sarcasm that they need to get their act together every time he has to handle a diaper change, feeding, etc. He's up with you at any hour day or night to help with the baby without a complaint, and regularly makes sure you're taking care of yourself also.
Could you imagine the irony if Wrecker was the only one in the squad that actually likes drinking black caf and the rest of them can only drink it if it has milk and sugar?
Hunter: You tolerate the unbearable sweetness of Mantell Mix but willingly choose to drink this?
Wrecker: It’s all about balance ⚖️
Tech: I believe he’ll ingest just about anything with a smile.
Crosshair: But cries while eating spicy nerf nuggets.
Wrecker: H-Hey!?
Echo: I always thought his taste buds were busted.

Prompt - "Well, I’m sorry I fell in love with you, okay? But it happened and I can’t do anything about it.” “You... What?” & "I never wanted anyone to feel bad for me, especially not you"
The sun streaming through the windows did little to fight against the coldness he felt, he knew the room was warm, he knew the cold he felt deep in his bones wasn’t there and yet he couldn’t fight the shivers that wracked his body. It didn’t matter that he could see the small room his brother’s had shown him to once they landed on the planet, in his mind he was still there, still in that cold, small cell with no hope of escaping.
He’d been there for so long, long enough that he had lost track of the days. He could have planned an escape, could have made some attempt to leave their torture but what for? There was nothing waiting for him outside of his cell anymore.
Gone was his relationship with his brothers, gone was the easy back and forth banter with Wrecker, gone were the late night talks with Hunter, gone were the days him and Tech would sit together, his brother’s voice filling the silence without expecting anything back from Crosshair, gone was Echo’s steady presence, at his side whenever he needed it.
Gone were you.
Gone were the early mornings when the rest of his brothers were still asleep, only you and Crosshair awake in the cockpit holding a warm cup of caff and filling the space with softly spoken conversation. Gone were the days spent trying to stick by your side, gone were the stolen glances and lingering touches, gone was sneaking away after missions to explore together, gone were the chances he took to watch you smile, gone was the promise he’d tell you how he felt tomorrow.
Crosshair had run out of tomorrow’s a long time ago.
After all he had done, all the pain he had put his brothers through, the pain he had put you through, this was the least he deserved.
And so when the chance came to make his escape, to leave the pain and the torture behind he hesitated. The cell door was open, it would be so easy to leave and yet he hesitated.
If the kid hadn’t been there, if her life didn’t depend on him getting her out he knows he would have stayed where he was, he would have rotted in that cell for as long as they decided he was useful alive.
Now he was free and somehow he felt more confined than ever. It wasn’t just because Hunter wouldn’t take his eyes off him, it wasn’t because Wrecker hovered or the fact Omega had seemed to attach herself to him. It didn’t even have anything to do with the fact that you were here, stars above Crosshair couldn’t think of a time he would ever have ignored your presence and yet now he did everything to stay away from you, not able to face you yet.
No, it wasn’t because of you or his brothers that Crosshair felt confined. It was because he didn’t deserve this freedom, in his head he was still in the cold cell, destined to rot away.
Crosshair stood from the floor, unable to lay there any longer. The room had a bed tucked against the wall but Crosshair had only managed about ten minutes of tossing and turning on it before he gave the bed up for the floor, the bed too soft compared to what he had become used to.
Everyone else was still asleep as he made his way outside, no real destination in mind. His feet carried him through side streets until they grew sore and only then did he make his way back, stopping not too far away from where the others were to sit on the sand, the sun shining blindingly on the water.
He didn’t deserve to be here.
“I used to come here.” A voice interrupted him some time later, a voice he recognised all too well. “It’s quiet, no one ever comes here.”
Crosshair didn’t turn to look at you, he couldn’t bring himself to do it but when you sat next to him it was too much. He went to stand but your hand softly grabbing his stopped him.
“Please stop running away.” You pleaded softly and Crosshair didn’t have to look at you to know your eyes were teary but he did anyway, his heart aching for having made you this way.
“I can’t do this.” He told you quietly, forcing his gaze away from yours and looking back out at the water.
“I don’t know what happened to you,” You said after a moment's silence and Crosshair balled his hand into a fist, silently begging you to stop talking. “I don’t know what they did to you and you don’t have to tell me but-”
“But nothing.” He spat angrily, glaring at the sea and instantly hating himself for lashing out at you, so he tried again, softer this time. “But nothing. What they did to me was nothing less than I deserved.”
“Don’t say that.” You said, head shaking as you tried to compose yourself.
“It’s the truth, I tried to kill you, kill my brothers…I hurt you all and for what? For the Empire to throw my loyalty in my face.” Crosshair shrugged.
“For what it’s worth, I never gave up on you.” You told Crosshair, looking away from him as you spoke. “It didn’t matter what you did, how far you strayed from us, I never gave up on you.”
“You should have.” He muttered. “Everyone else did, Hunter doesn’t trust me, Wrecker wants to but he knows I’m nothing more than a lost cause.”
“That’s not true. Hunter’s just being Hunter, he needs time to adjust, needs time to figure things out in his head and then he’ll want to talk to you. Yeah you’re both gonna throw out words you don’t mean, maybe a punch or two but after that…it’s Hunter, he’s glad you’re back. As for Wrecker he wants to come to you, you know that as much as I do but he’s scared, he doesn’t want to spook you so he’s waiting for you to make the first move.” You explained, keeping your voice soft, not turning to face Crosshair as he turned to look at you.
“What about you?” He finally asked, voice barely above a whisper.
“I was with Wrecker. I kept my distance and waited to see what your move was. Turns out your move was to avoid everyone.” You laughed and Crosshair felt himself relax a little, the sound one
he hadn't heard in so long and it somehow managed to push out some of the cold he felt. “I feel for you, Cross, I do. Stars only know what the Empire did to you but you’re free now, don’t let them win, don’t shut us out.”
“I never wanted anyone to feel bad for me, especially not you.” Crosshair said after a long pause of silence and you laughed again.
“We all feel bad for you, despite everything you’re one of us.” You told him so sincerely that Crosshair felt like he’d been punched in the stomach at the speed his breath was stolen from him.
You turned to face him, a small smile on your face and you hesitated for only a moment before you reached out and took his hand in yours, entwining your fingers together.
“I don’t deserve any of this,” Crosshair forced out and you smiled at him softly. “I don’t deserve you, you should be running away from me, leave me behind and move on.”
“Well, I’m sorry but I fell in love with you, okay?” You told him, watching as his eyes widened in complete disbelief. “It happened and I can’t do anything about it.”
“You…what?” Crosshair choked, for so long he had dreamed of you and him, of a life where you could possibly want him but it was such a far off dream, something that would never become a reality and now you were saying the words he had longed to hear for years.
“You’re stuck with me, Cross, I’m not going anywhere, I’m not running away. You’re it for me, always have been.” You said, laughing as a tear or two managed to slip down your cheek and Crosshair only second guessed himself for a moment before his hand cupped your cheek and he softly brushed the tears away, his thumb caressing your cheek bone.
“I don’t deserve you.” He repeated and you smiled brightly at him. “But I will spend the rest of my life trying.”
“I love you.” You told him again, watching as his eyes became watery and he rested his forehead against yours.
“I love you too, so much.” He choked out and you couldn’t stop yourself from closing the small distance between the two of you, Crosshair not hesitating to meet you in the middle.
Crosshair’s hand on your cheek moved to your hair, pulling you impossibly closer as he kissed you, savouring every second of the feeling, something he had longed for and convinced himself he could never have.
Eventually the two of you needed to pull apart for air, breathing heavily but not going far from each other, foreheads together as you both smiled at the other.
For the first time in so long Crosshair didn’t feel a single bit of cold, his body was warm, his heart racing as he held you close. For the first time in a long time Crosshair didn’t feel numb, he didn’t feel pain or fear.
It felt like he was finally off that awful planet, it felt like he had finally left his cold cell behind and stepped into the daylight, able to feel the sun of Pabu for the first time and it was because of you, you were the source of this warmth, this love, this joy, this overwhelming relief that things would be better.
For the first time in a very long time Crosshair felt like things would be okay, he had you, he swore he’d make amends with his brothers, spend the rest of his life making up for everything, spend the rest of his life proving he was worthy of yours and his brother’s love. It felt easier, it felt doable with you at his side once again.
Crosshair x reader / past relationship with Hunter
She/ her pronouns
It’s been so long since I’ve posted or even written anything. My writers block has gotten the best of me but I’m rewatching bad batch and I’ve been trying to write again! I’ve missed the clones so much 😢
So warning for spelling mistakes and any other mistakes! Hope everyone that reads enjoys!
(Maybe ooc crosshair? Kinda? Idk)
It’s a tight squeeze but you manage. Your hands rest on Crosshairs shoulder, giving him a reassuring squeeze. His arm wraps around your waist, pulling you impossibly close. However, you feel the slightest touch of Hunter from behind and you know he’s trying to keep himself from falling into you. On any other occasion Crosshair would be biting his head off for being so close to you but right now there isn’t much room to be arguing over personal space. His eyes aren’t even on you, but rather on Hunter.
“It’s only for a short while” You dare a glance behind you, Hunters head moves so you can only assume he’s looking you in the eye.
AZ maneuvers the pod from the falling debris, and your turn to watch everything being lost to the depths. You’re not sure how the two are handling loosing a home, and you’ll have to talk with Crosshair after to make sure he’s okay. He’ll never tell you anything in front of Hunter.
Hunter can’t stand it, your smell is intoxicating. He miss you, wishes he waited that moment longer. However, he couldn’t there had been no time and he wants to tell you, let it bleed out of him. He almost thankful for helmet on his head, but you were the best at reading him. If he hadn’t brought it he’s sure you’d see the apologetic look he’s giving you, or maybe you see the love he still has for you.
You flinch as Hunters hands grab at your hips as the pod jolts a bit too roughly. Your bodies squish Crosshair, and he quick to shove Hunter back, a glare that sent chills down your spine is directed at Hunter.
“You’re hurting her. Stay on your side” Crosshair growls as he pulls you an inch or so closer, Hunters front no longer pressed against you
“Well if you didn’t insist on her joining an already cramped pod-“ Hunter starts but is cut off quickly “She goes where I go” his tone assertive leaving no question in the air for doubt
Hunter can only nod before glancing around for Omega, he sees she’s as safe as the rest of them before turning back, he lets out a sigh.
“So, uh, when did you two start this…” he trails off catching himself on your shoulder, his touch familiar yet foreign and you hate but your body relaxes under his touch “… this thing?”
“When you abandon her” Crosshair eyes soften when they meet yours and you can’t stop the smile that spread on your face “I kept her safe” his arm tightens around you and you give a small nod “and I will continue to do so”
A moment passes and the pod jolts abruptly, Hunter’s hands catch your hips as Crosshairs does his best catch himself but you had been wrapped around him so tightly that catching himself had been useless. Your jaw clenches, trying to keep the groan from slipping past your lips.
“Are you okay?” He quickly ask, and you can only nod and you’re trying to reach the button just behind him, your wiggling trying to push yourself forward as best as you could but Hunters grips tightens and you realize that wiggling isn’t helping him “Sorry” you whisper “Crosshair, your elbow” and he nods and you’re finally able to breath.
It all happens quick, one second Hunters looking you over as if you’ve been injured and the next your behind Crosshair. Your eyes widened at the others, blaster focused on one person and your quick to shield Crosshair. Glancing back you see he’s aiming in the water and you realize Omega isn’t here.
She’s up in a moment, Hunter checking her over and Crosshair turns to look at you. You softly smile at him as you reach up brushing your finger across his check before settling your palm against him. He eyes swirling with questions and all you can do it nod at him a small “I’m okay” slipping past your lips as your press your forehead to his.
~ ~
Hunter and Crosshair stand a few feet from you. Backs turned but you can see they’re talking, about what? You don’t know. You smile at the others and thank Tech for the bacta patch.
“Crosshair” you call for him and he turns before looking back over at Hunter, sighing in defeat he walks over to you
“We don’t have a lot of time to discuss this” he starts as he wraps his arms around you, he’s not big on PDA but right now, in front of his brothers, he doesn’t care “I need you to go with them” his grips tightens as you try to pull away
“Wh-what’re you saying?” You try to pull back to look at him but his grip is tight “we promised” you could feel the tears brimming your eyes as you give him a push and he loosens so that you can look up at him
“After this? It’ll be harder to keep you safe and if you go with-“ he reaches up, his thumb catching the tears that slip down your face “-they’ll keep you safe. I’ll know your safe” his brows dip, heart squeezing in his chest “don’t fight this” he reaches in to his pocket, a black band that you had placed on his finger months back “I made you a promise and this is me keeping it”
He grabs your hand, placing the band in your palm. He closes your hand around it, his forehead coming to rest on yours. It’s not fair, he wants to tell Hunter to piss off but he’s right. The stunt he pulled would make his trust with the empire less than what it was. He’d be putting you in harms away and he can’t have that. His heart is shattered with each sniffle that comes from you, he opens his eyes and pulls back.
“When things get better, I’ll find you” he lifts your chin with his finger “we made a promise and I don’t intend on breaking it” you frown shaking your head “don’t do this” you plead and he cups your face, leaning down and softly presses a kiss to your lips.
He pulls back, pressing a kiss to the top of your head his eyes shutting tightly and pulls you close. He pulls back and looks to Hunter. You look back and Hunter is walking over and you turn back to Crosshair. You don’t want to believe this. Your heart squeezes in your chest, your hands grip his tighter.
“I’m not leaving without you” your voice is broken, you pleading with everything in you for him to let you stay but he’s set in his ways, his first priority had been you “we made a vow to never part from each other” you hold his band up and it’s settled next to yours, a silver band that is now exactly where it’s meant to sit on your left hand
Hunter switches his blaster to stun. It feels heavy in his hands now that it’s aimed at your back. He wishes Crosshair wasn’t right about this. You were never going to leave him willingly. He hears the words that leave your lips and his eyes flash to Crosshair. He didn’t just protect you, he fell in love with you and you him. He feels his heart shatter, he’s fighting the sudden tears brimming his eyes.
He wanted to be selfish, but the way your plead with Crosshair, the way you cling to him like he’s the reason your breath makes all the what if’s vanish from his mind. You were no longer his and the bands in your hands prove that. Crosshair had done so much for you in the months that passed that what he had done for you in years seem like nothing, empty promises.
Crosshair meets Hunters eyes, and Hunter pulls the trigger, your body falls limp into his arms. He watches the way Crosshair kneels down, his fingers moving your hair from your face as he press a kiss to your lips, your forehead and your lips once more this time longer. He lingers, his lips moving but Hunter chooses not to listen.
“Keep her safe Hunter” Crosshair pleads, no sneer, no icy tone and he can only nod “keep her happy” he adds “she’s the only good thing I have left”
Crosshair watches Hunter carry you on to the ship. He closes his eyes before turning away. He’s not sure why he’s making this choice when the only light in his life is you. As he hears the ship take off, dark storm clouds begin to swirl in his mind. The sun no longer guiding his way as the sudden reality of it all comes to the front of his mind. You’re not safe until Rampart is dealt with.
Summary: You and Hunter frequently kiss in secret. But, one day Omega walks in on you two. You and Hunter have to explain and it leads to an explanation of your love for Hunter and, how you love Omega.
Genre: Tooth rotting fluff, some angst
Warnings: Kissing, it’s a tear-jerker, Omega being literally the cutest 🥹
After long missions, it became a routine for you and Hunter to give each other a knowing look. That look only meant one thing. One question.
Kisses?
That’s all it took. You and Hunter would find each other, go to a secluded space in the ship and kiss.
Just feeling his lips on yours calmed your whole body. And for Hunter, just having you close and your scent enveloping his senses soothed his form.
The two of you looked forward to the end of missions, just so you could have an excuse to be close to one another.
Usually, you weren’t interrupted. I mean, there were one or two times when one of the batcher’s would walk in on you two, well making out, and then having to awkwardly exit.
Those were embarrassing and uncomfortable situations. But luckily it didn’t happen too often.
However, what you both were not ready for, was Omega to walk in on you two.
It was just like any regular, “secret one-on-one” in the cockpit of the Marauder.
Hunter whispered your name as he held you close. You breathed heavily as Hunter pushed you against the wall.
He grabbed your waist and trailed kisses down your neck. You moaned and grabbed Hunter’s hair roughly. Hunter leaned back and placed a soft kiss on your lips. He smiled, you grinned and giggled.
“You sure know how to drive a girl crazy,” you said as you wrapped her arms around Hunter’s neck. He chuckled.
“It’s kind of my speciality,” he winked. “But, only for you mesh’la, only for you.”
“Glad to hear that,” you smirked then leaned in.
Unbeknownst to the two of you, someone was curious as to where you were. And that someone decided to find out.
“Hey, Echo? Do you know where Hunter is? I haven’t seen him since we finished our mission,” Omega asked. Echo choked on his caf. He cleared his throat.
“Well, you, uh see,” Echo bit his lip. “He’s probably just, uh, you know discussing the next mission. Yeah, that's all.” He finished with a nervous smile. Omega arched a brow.
“Okay?” Omega was skeptical, but decided to let it go and figure out for herself where Hunter was, because she knew you’d probably be with him.
If you two were discussing a new mission, she’d want to know what it was and how she could help!
The first place she thought to look was the cockpit. She waltzed on up to it and the door slid open. She gasped.
You and Hunter froze. Hunter cringed and turned around, you peered over him and both of your eyes widened.
Well, this was bound to happen. Omega tilted her head confused.
“What were you guys doing?” You both smiled nervously.
Both of you simultaneously stuttered a couple “oh, nothing” and “we weren’t doing anything” as Hunter backed away from you. You looked anywhere but at Omega and Hunter awkwardly rubbed a hand behind his neck. Omega was even more confused.
“Huh? But you were clearly doing something. That didn’t look like you ‘discussing’ our next mission,” Omega said with hand quotations. She crossed her arms in front of her. You facepalmed.
We’re screwed. Hunter looked at you, silently asking you, “What do we do?” You huffed and nodded your head.
“Well, you see, Omega,” you paused and motioned Omega to come forward. Omega obliged and sat in the pilot’s chair.
“Me and Hunter. We-we, love each other.” You smiled at Hunter and held his arm. Hunter grinned back and held your hand. Omega’s eyes widened a little, but she smiled after. You continued.
“And well, when people love each other,” you bit your lip. “I don’t know how to put this,” you chuckled. Hunter rubbed your back to comfort you.
“They kiss. There I said it.” Omega’s face was confused but she nodded along, starting to understand.
“Okay,” she pondered. “But, you say you love all of us, how come you don’t kiss the other guys.” Your eyes widened and you breathed a laugh. Hunter chuckled.
“Well, Omega. That’s a different type of love.” Omega gasped.
“Really? There’s different kinds of love?” You and Hunter nodded your heads.
“Yeah, we have a romantic type of love.” Hunter wrapped an arm around your waist. You looked at him then nodded at Omega.
“That’s right. The love I have for the other guy’s is different.” Omega was still confused.
“Different, how?”
“Well, I love the other guys; Wrecker, Tech, Echo and Crosshair, in more of a brotherly type of way. I see them more as family.” Omega nodded along, then her face lit up in understanding.
“Oooh, that makes sense!” You and Hunter smiled at her. Omega giggled. Then, her eyes furrowed.
“Well, then. What about me? You say you love me all the time. Is it in a sisterly way?” Omega asked, pointing to herself.
You gave her a warm smile then kneeled down by the chair she was sitting at. You placed your hands on Omega’s arms gently. Omega looked down at you curiously.
“Omega, even the way I love you is different too.” You smiled.
“Really?” Omega asked, eager to know. You nodded your head.
“Yes,” You glanced at Hunter. He nodded his head. You looked back at Omega.
“The way I love you,” You paused and smiled. “…is more like a daughter.”
Omega gasped and beamed. She jumped off of the chair and into your arms. You were shocked but quickly wrapped your arms around Omega. Omega leaned back and looked at you, tears brimming her eyes.
“And the way I love you, is like a Mom.” You gasped and smiled as tears fell down your face. Hunter smiled warmly and kneeled beside the two of you. Omega grinned and pulled Hunter in for a group hug.
“And I love you like a Dad, Hunter.” Omega beamed. Hunter chuckled and ruffled her hair. Omega giggled and you laughed as she sniffed.
Omega stood up and held her hands out for Hunter and Y/N. You both looked at each other and smiled. You both took her hands and stood up.
“I just have one question,” Omega asked cheekily. Hunter raised a brow.
“Can I get a kiss?” You laughed out loud.
“What?” Hunter chuckled. Omega only shrugged.
“If you love me, you give me kisses right?” You giggled and shook your head. Omega slumped.
“Wha-what? I thought you said that’s how it works!” You stopped laughing and frowned.
“Omega, it’s different,” You gently placed a hand on her shoulder. “Me and Hunter, we love each other romantically. Only people who love each other like that kiss.” Omega nodded her head.
“Okay,” her eyebrows furrowed. “But, I saw you kiss the other guys.” Hunter’s eyes widened. You immediately shook your head.
“Again, that’s different. I didn’t kiss them on the lips.” Hunter’s face changed to understanding.
“Huh?” Omega was still confused.
“Okay, I kiss Hunter on the lips, because that’s what you do when you love someone romantically. I’ll kiss the other guys’ foreheads or cheeks, as more of a familial type of way. You understand?” Omega grinned and nodded her head.
“Yeah! It all makes sense!” You and Hunter smiled.
“So, you know why we kiss now, right?” Hunter asked with a raised brow. Omega nodded her head vigorously.
“Yep, it’s because you love each other, romantically,” Omega wriggled her eyebrows playfully. You and Hunter laughed. Omega smiled sadly.
“Does that still mean I don’t get a kiss?” Omega pouted. You smiled.
“Well, I don’t see why not.” Omega’s face lightened up. You and Hunter laughed again. You leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on Omega’s forehead. Omega beamed. She turned to Hunter and smiled cheekily. He chuckled.
“Oh, alright.” Hunter leaned forward and placed a kiss on Omega’s forehead as well. Omega was practically grinning from ear to ear.
“Thanks you guys!” Omega skipped out of the cockpit giddily. Hunter chuckled and turned to you.
“Well, that was eventful, wasn’t it?” You sighed.
“Yep, who knew parenting would be so hard.” Hunter breathed a laugh then pulled you close. He enveloped you in a warm hug. You stayed like that for a few seconds. Relishing in each other's warmth.
“You know, seeing Omega so happy,” You leaned back. “It just makes my whole world. She’s a really good kid.” You smiled, thinking about her.
Hunter held your cheek. He hummed.
“Seeing you and her together,” he paused. “That makes my whole world.” You beamed. Hunter leaned in and placed a chaste kiss on your lips. One filled with passion, love and happiness.
You smiled but heard giggling. You pulled away and raised a brow. Hunter’s face turned confused, then his nose scrunched up.
“Omega!” He shouted, then Omega screamed and ran away. Hunter playfully growled and chased her. You watched fondly, chuckling to yourself.

Imagine being unable to sleep, upset by Echo's departure, and turning to Tech for comfort
The ship was stuffy. Your mind was full. The future was uncertain. It was the perfect mixture of reasons to be restless.
You'd removed the top half of your blacks and tied it around your waist, putting on a tank top in hopes of cooling down. Sitting on the lowered ramp of The Marauder, you stared into the misty night sky, feeling trapped by the stale silence. Your eyes began to sting, emotions starting to overcome you. How could so much have changed so quickly?
The sound of footsteps pulled you from your troubled thoughts, and you didn't have to turn around to know who approached. The rapid tapping of gloved fingers on a datapad was enough for you to recognize him.
"You are unable to sleep," Tech says.
It wasn't a question. He'd just stated it as a fact, as he did with most things.
"Not really," you answer, quickly wiping at your eyes.
"I suspect there is a reason," he begins, sitting down beside you, "Would it ease your mind if you shared your concerns with me?"
Your heart skipped at the prospect, and at how near he was.
"I'll be alright, really," you hesitate, trying to compose yourself.
"The tension in your voice and your constrained body language suggests otherwise," he replies, putting away his datapad.
You can't help but chuckle, "Nothing gets past you, does it?"
"Not really," he parrots your words. He removes his helmet and puts it aside. You're surprised to see he's smiling ever-so-slightly.
You sigh, trying put your many thoughts into words. "We've all lost so much. After all our fighting and all our running, sometimes I've wondered what it was all for. But I thought as long as we stayed together, things would be alright. We would figure it out because together we had hope. Now, I'm afraid that we've lost it."
Tech pushes up his goggles before responding.
"I know it may seem that way, but Echo did not leave because he had no hope," he offers, "He believes that there are better ways apart from this squad that he can help preserve hope, and if he is successful, pass it on to others."
"I thought we were already doing that," you reply, shaking your head, "I know we have to be careful, especially for Omega's sake, and we can't fight The Empire the same way others can, but I thought we were making some kind of difference."
"Echo's departure does not necessarily signify failure in our pursuits."
"But aren't we stronger together than apart?" you ask, looking to him.
Tech blinks slowly, visibly weighing your question. Surely he is bothered by all this too?
"Theoretically, yes. But our objections cannot change what has happened," he admits.
Your gaze falls back to your boots, shame setting in. How selfish you must sound. "You're right. I don't think less of Echo. Truly I don't," you say, holding your arms, "I just don't want to lose this squad, and I really don't want to lose..."
You were desperate to say it, but the word caught in your throat. Tears threaten to return. This is not how it was supposed to go. Squeezing your eyes shut, you bow your head, hoping he wouldn't see your entire façade crumbling.
You nearly jump as you feel his hand gently clasp your shoulder. You look up to see his soft brown eyes, full of warmth and understanding.
"I do not have plans to go any place where you cannot also be," he affirms, "And I intend to never make such plans."
A tear slips down your cheek as you choke back a sob. Whatever was left of your composure, he'd just destroyed it, and somehow it was the push you needed.
You lean over to rest your head on his chest. You hold your breath as you feel him tense up at the contact. Fear washes over you that you've gone too far, and you're about to sit up, but then he carefully wraps his arm around you, holding you close.
You purse your lips, trying not to grin. How long you had waited for this moment. Heart racing, you close your eyes and wish for time to stop. So many words had passed between you over the months, but now you could barely speak.
"Tech?" you breathe.
"Yes?"
"I never want to make those kinds of plans either," you say, relaxing into him more.
"It's settled then," he confirms, proceeding to rest his chin upon the top of your head.
It was settled. You knew with absolute certainty that this is where you wanted to be. You were stronger together, and no matter what became of the galaxy, together you and Tech would stay.
