hey y’all. the situation in Louisiana and surrounding states is much, much worse than I anticipated when I made my last post. cities are underwater. I watched people beg for rescue on Twitter last night because 911’s lines were down and the heavy winds made it impossible for anyone to reach them by boat. New Orleans (the entire city, if not others) is going to be without power for a month at bare minimum. people all over the state will have no access to clean water, air conditioning, and countless other resources. southwest Louisiana is still struggling with these same conditions almost a year after Hurricane Laura’s passing, too, with little to no help from the government. if you can, please donate (be it money, water, food, clothes, or other resources) to the organizations I mentioned in my last post, or any others you find in the #HurricaneIda tag on Tumblr or Twitter. thank you again for your time, if you read this far.
