Hyas is/was the Son of the Herald of Land, Atlas. He wasn’t really focused on the political conflicts his father had with the Sun King and was incredibly laid back and viewed the conflict as “pointless”. All he wanted to do was play his little instruments and be an archiver of the history of his father’s kingdom. He did not want to be the next chimera in line to wield his father’s petal shard if anything were to happen to him, and would always tell him to give that piece of responsibility to his other siblings (still figuring that part out). When Hyas was a child, he met Jiya and encountered Sooraj. The imposing imagery of Jiya’s mother never left his mind, and Jiya teases him about that whenever it gets brought up. Hyas did have romantic feelings for Jiya but knew it would be a drawback, especially when his father and her mother hated each other during this time, and only made amends cause the Sage of Order insisted. But they are not on good terms still just toned down their conflict with each other. Anyways, Hyas and Jiya would hang out in secrecy until Atlas caught both of them. Around this time, Jiya had already had her own kingdom to rule and wasn’t under Sooraj’s supervision. Atlas took Jiya under his wing to guide her to stop Sooraj’s tyranny. Jiya became convinced and turned against her own mother.
The whole twist thing abt Jiya’s death. So all goes downhill from here, and war has begun. Jiya and Sooraj are fighting. Atlas and Hyas were there watching from afar. (Still trying to figure this part out, also lotta talk of gruesome deaths) Atlas, in a way, wanted Sooraj’s petal shard. He thought that if Sooraj were dead and no one to wield the petal shard, order would return to the lands. And would hand it over to the Sage to figure out what to do. However, their original plan was to kill Sooraj and Jiya to wield the petal shard. Atlas worried in the back of his mind that Jiya would follow in the same footsteps as Sooraj. So Hyas, not knowing his father’s true intentions, aimed at Sooraj, waiting for the right moment to strike. Atlas was aiming at Jiya and was going to strike at the same time Hyas would shoot Sooraj. However, Hyas missed, but Atlas didn’t, and killed Jiya in front of Sooraj. Atlas and Hyas were mortified; Hyas was confused by his own father and why he had done that. Atlas immediately left the scene to avoid getting caught as his son stood there in shock. However, Hyas didn’t leave the scene fast enough, as Sooraj saw him with a firearm and believed he was the one who killed Jiya. Skipping a few things, but Atlas and Hyas were not held accountable for Jiya’s death by the Sage of Order due to Sooraj’s crimes. This enraged Sooraj so much that this is where Sooraj began to abuse his powers of the sun. Where the days lasted longer, and the sun became hotter, Sooraj became a more hostile ruler and was plotting revenge. As Sooraj stalked Hyas and the Herald's kingdom, waiting for the right moment to strike, he set the Herald’s kingdom ablaze and beheaded Hyas. And handed Hyas’ head to Atlas as a final warning, and that a true war between them will start.
