I'll miss it dearly, like really if you can go check the stuff people translated/archived of it bc it had so much great stuff (not only the main story but events and card stories all have either cool things to analyse and think abt or really entertaining character moments)
The #thankyouhypdori had Mira for week 1 (so I did my favorite ghost, GHifumi...), dream match up for week 2 (Sasara vs Dice was the only one missing, cat fight...) and week 3 was event (piratoki and Dice underling made me really happy)
Week 4 was free choice and I haven't done anything yet but I will eventually..

dkdc whos doing translations for anything these days but i read this story in jp and typed up a whole detailed summary for me and my friend who are jirolikers and i thought since i wrote all that i might as well share. warning for walls of text under the cut !

-jiro's just come home from a request and is in a great mood because it smells great and he cant wait to eat niichan's cooking <3 but ichiro's crossing his arms like "…" and jiro's like OH right ok first things first when i get home i gotta wash my hands- and ichiro goes all jiro. and tells him he found a notice for makeup exams and supplementary lessons- if jiro has this it means hes been getting failing marks, right? does he know if he fails the makeup exam he'll have to take supplementary lessons on the holidays? jiro didnt even read the frigging printout…
-the days for supplementary lessons for if he fails the makeup exams lines up with a weekend theyre supposed to go camping and ichiro's like Even if he'd love to go with the three of them as a student jiro needs to focus on studying too so theyll leave him at home if it comes to that. jiros like No way :( and ichiro's like As long as you pass itll be fine right?
-saburo comes in and talks about how he wont forgive jiro if he has to skip their camping trip because he has to take supplementary lessons- because then whos gonna put up the tent and carry shit and do all the physical labor?? saburo would be happy to go camping with just the two of him and ichinii but if jiro cant come ichinii will have to do more work. SO. saburo takes it upon himself to help him study. funny note: saburo literally says He'll find a way to produce some adenosine triphosphate in jiro's mitochondria-sized brain and ichiro's like "ミト……？まあ、よろしくな。" it's so funny. saburo when he just says shit
-short study montage. saburo gives jiro a function to solve and jiro's like I dont understand this english and saburo's like We're studying MATH they also study history but jiro falls asleep and jiro was dreaming about being in school. they do that for a few days of jiro coming straight home after school to study with saburo lol
-at some point jiro takes an emergency request and is happy to get out of the house. he runs into some friends and they mention that they havent seen him in a while, is he good? jiro says he's good, just tied up with stuff at home (seems embarrassed to mention hes been busy studying) anyway theyre glad it's just that. they go to different schools so since they havent seen him in ikebukuro, theyve been worried that maybe………
-See, a new delinquent's in town and said he'll kick jiro's ass. jiro's like now Why would someone say that. his friends dont know either, they met that guy at a game center looking gloomy by himself. he looked around their age and he was a new face, and they thought itd be better for him if he had people to hang out with so they reached out to him. it went fine at first but then they started mentioning jiro and how he was funny and strong and bukuro's guard dog!! the new guy's mood tanked and he said he'll kick jiro's ass. like he even threw down the cola he was drinking.
-jiro's friends ask him if he remembers doing anything to make him mad?? jiro has no memory of anything like that so his friends were like Oh so it was probably something we did huh… and jiro's like No you guys didnt do anything wrong?? anyway jiro says not to worry about it because even if he did run into that guy he wouldnt lose to him
-as he's on his way home after that wondering if they'll study english or classical literature he runs into that guy whos really pissed at him still. jiros like Youre the guy my friends mentioned, the guy who threw his cola down. go apologize to the people at the store properly. UEUEUEUUE . guy's like Stop acting like a good guy he doesnt like it?? jiro doesnt care to be liked by him or anything, he doesnt have time to talk about stupid shit
-jiro tries to leave and the guy's calling him chicken. jiro doesnt wanna get in a stupid fight he never even did anything to this guy?? guy's like he cant fucking stand guys like jiro who get cocky from being talked up by his minions. jiros like Who the fuck is he calling minions those are his friends???? dont shittalk his friends!!!! jiro looks the guy in the eye and guy's still egging him on but then jiro's friends come. guy says theyre in the way and leaves but not without saying theyll settle this another day and jiro's friends said they saw jiro getting followed so they came to check things out- and jiro thanks them for going out of their way…
-jiro comes home late and saburo's pissed because they knew from their client that the job was done hours ago so wheres jiro been??? anyway ichiro says he should eat first so he has energy to study but. jiro fakes a stomachache and says hes gonna skip dinner and go lie down. asks saburo to let him off the hook just for today and saburo's like What happened to his Energy. that hes energetic is his only good point…
-later on jiro comes down and ichiro catches him trying to leave at this hour asking him what hes hiding. jiro has someone he wants to meet and tells ichiro about what happened. ichiro gets that jiro's anxious about it but lying to him and saburo then trying to go out? jiro says sorry for lying but… when he looked into that guys eyes he looked like he had more to say to him and jiro feels like he has to hear him out then. ichiro Understands his feelings but should he abandon his studies for that? it's super good of jiro to worry about someone even if theyre resenting him for no reason, but he has to worry about himself first.
-jiro thinks his aniki's right. he has something he needs to do here first. he'll eat dinner properly and study. but in exchange for that, he makes a request to ichiro, to yorozuya yamada. he'll pay for it by doing all of ichiro's chores after the makeup exam, if it's shopping or cleaning the bathtub. ichiro agrees…
-jiro continues to study with saburo in the coming days. saburo's mad at jiro for not applying a formula he's taught him over and over but jiro is determined to try again. except he gets distracted by a text from his friends- it's pictures of his friends all beat up!!!!!! agh jiro gets really mad here now. that guy beat up his friends, took their phones, took these photos, and sent them to jiro. he starts to leave but ichiro shows up and asks where he's going. jiro explains the situation, so hes going to the riverbank where the photos were taken- even if ichiro tries to stop him, he has to go. ichiro isnt trying to stop him though, he just wants jiro to read something before he goes- it's the information jiro requested. saburo also helped look into shit for the record. 'cause itll be troublesome for him and ichinii if jiro cant come to the camp because he was distracted from studying sheesh. ichiro tells him not to lose :)
-jiro makes it to the riverbank where the guy was just thinking about beating his friends up some more because hes Late. jiro helps them up and tells them to run and leave everything to him, and they go. then he confronts the guy, says he asked an Excellent yorozuya to look into what he was up to before he came to bukuro and found out he was famous in his old town where he had a lot of friends and everyone was kind to him. but his friend that he trusted the most betrayed him and he went through hell, changed by himself, and left the town where he couldnt trust anyone anymore.
-jiro thought he mustve gone through tough shit but that doesnt excuse hurting his friends!! they start actually fighting here and throwing punches. guy shouts "shut up!! what the hell do you know???" and stuff and jiro says he doesnt know shit but he busts out the protag lines here!! he wont lose because while that guy's fighting alone, jiro isnt!! the guy says he didnt want to be alone, if he could start over…
-turns out he cant stand jiro because he reminds him of how he used to be and it hurts worse than getting punched. they fight more and eventually jiro takes him down. but jiro says he understands- the guy was worried about jiro, that hed eventually get betrayed too… but he doesnt have to worry "'cause starting today, you're my friend. if we're friends, as long as you don't betray me, i won't end up alone. and you wont be alone either. then everyone's happy. don't worry, i'll go with you to say sorry to my friends you beat up. you wanted to start over, right? here in bukuro."
-theyre able to go camping!! <3 saburo's impressed that jiro didnt fail even in a situation like that. ichiro said jiro really pulled through in the last spurt lol. jiro focused on studying shit saburo said would definitely show up on the test, and his new friend happens to be smart and taught him techniques for acing makeup exams. saburo offhandedly remarks that if that guy's smart he wouldnt need to take makeup exams in the first place lol. ichiro's just happy jiro made more friends, he came through in his own way. jiro's excited to pitch the tent and do barbecue. yippee!

the concept is that though the ghosts are supposed to look like their originals, they do have their own personalities and i wanted to explore giving them "unique" designs. some notes under the cut!
general notes
an extra challenge i gave to myself: since the ghosts are AIs based on the data of their originals, i tried to incorporate existing outfits they've worn before--similar to the way AI takes information and generates a new product based on what it's taken in, like an amalgamation of sorts
the closer a ghost is to their original in personality, the less different they look

he's actually the one that gave me the most trouble with this bc i didn't know how i wanted to go about his design LMFAO
if he's gentaro's "truth" then perhaps he should look like how gentaro used to be before he took on his brother's identity. personally i think that gentaro had a more western style, but the traditional japanese style is also so iconic of yumeno gentaro
in the end, i think gentaro doesn't even know his "truth" anymore. he's no longer the person he used to be, but the person he is now is someone that shouldn't be
with that in mind, i combined both styles. if it seems confused, that's because it is! lol

ghost!jakurai to me feels like the way jakurai might've came off around 2018-2020--the jakurai with a god complex (as opposed to a savior complex) (yes, this is a very important distinction) (<- guy who's been a jakurai girlie since 2018 and has Opinions)
since jakughost holds his original in high regard, i didn't make too many changes
i kept the doctor's coat because i feel like it's a symbol of status, which fits his image as a god. i included the chains from his EW as well since i think it fits that imagery + the way the ghosts can lock use of the mics
👻 dice
he's actually the reason i felt inspired to do all of this! i feel like ghost!dice was just so different from the dice we know, i wanted to give him an outfit that fits him more
ghostdai gives off the air of a bocchan; my exact thought was "he feels like the dice who was raised by his parents"
that said, i wanted him to wear something more formal but still a little loose considering he was running a casino lol
👻 hifumi
right off the bat, i thought he should appear a little more closed off. to me, he's a hifumi who has yet to properly deal with his trauma
though his outfit is more subdued and proper, i thought adding the flowers from his EW would give more oomph since he's trying to get people to stay at his club. kind of like the way poisonous animals are brightly colored. also i just thought it'd look more interesting LOL
i think i'm incapable of not adding rose petals in any hifumi related piece atp lmfao 😭
