I'm pretty sure your weekend warrior program 'graduates' would be drawn, and quartered in the presence of an actual Samurai, Spartan, or Knight... they left out Vikings.

the light and dark side in star wars is so much more than just good or evil. and this is shown particularly in the prequels. the light side shows the danger of being un-emotional, and the dark side shows the danger or being too emotional. Anikin is shown struggling with having to restrain his emotions, and when he gives up on restraining them, the Jedi council’s like “Well i guess you’re evil now.” but he wasn’t. he was being human. my analysis would go further but i can’t remember enough from the third movie to continue it. either i’ll watch the movie or someone else will continue it before i get a chance, but yeah. it occurred to me that the Jedi embody the dangers of hyper-masculinity, and the dark side embodies the violence that can come from suppressing your emotions.
