I LOVE YOU LORD HYPNOS!!!!!!
I'm not one to have nightmares but I had a real disturbing dream last night and I'm still shaken. I was already planning to set up shrines for Hypnos and Morpheus in my bedroom but after last night I think I need to get on that ASAP!
Dearest Hypnos -
I ask you in a vulnerable state of where calm and need meet Please bless my attempts to sleep I offer to you dear Hypnos the time, energy, and rituals surrounding bed. I pour you libations from my bed-side water cup.
Glorious Hypnos - I have had struggles Sleep has not always come easy It’s almost terrifying to need something this much and have no time for it to go wrong Please help guide me away from that fear to a comfortable place
Lovely, caring, calm, sleepy Hypnos - I ask for your help and your blessing tonight and thank you, as always, for the restful sleep and joyous slumbers
“O, Hypnos,
divine repose of all things!
Gentlest of the deities!
Peace to the troubled mind,
from which you drive the cares of life.
Restorer of men’s strength
when wearied with the toils of day.”
— Ovid, Metamorphoses

Dear Hypnos,
i feel you, everywhere.
the way my head sinks in my pillows, comforted by my blankets that vaguely smell like you.
it's fluffy, soft touch against my skin, telling me:
it's okay, my child. you must sleep, my child. our realm awaits you, my child.
with every yawn, i feel you. i feel your hands resting on my shoulders, ready to guide me to starlight
the light scent of lavender and sage fill the room, as i travel back and forth, between blissful unconsciousness and blurry awareness.

Hypnos, king of Gods, and men of mortal birth, sovereign of all, sustained by mother earth; for thy dominion is supreme alone, over all extended, and by all things known. - Orphic Hymn 85 Thanks to @casuallycassandrah for the suggestion now that tumblr seems to be working now I’ll get right on Thanatos!
