Zelda’s Adventure to Gamelon

The Kingdom of Hyrule was experiencing a time of peace after Link Defeated the Evil wizard Aghanim and stopped the attempt at Reviving Ganon in the neighboring kingdoms of Holodrum and Labrynna. But one Terrible news reached the King of Hyrule, his old friend and close Ally Duke Onkled of the island nation Koridai is under Attack by evil forces and has asked for Aid. King Sopranos left for Koridai leaving Zelda and Link in charge of Hyrule in his absence. But after a Month with no word from the King Zelda asks Link to go to Koridai to find out what happened to her Father. Link travels with Raskha and their old friend Sahsrasla. But they also disappeared, Zelda against the wishes of the Chancellor decides to go to Koridai herself along with Impa to rescue her Father and Friends.

Zelda the Wand of Gamelon was a Philips CD-I game released back in 1993 two years after A Link to the Past. They are very bad games and Nintendo doesn’t recognize them as Canon to the Zelda series and probably wishes they were directly involved in their development or that they never existed.

When I first started working on my fan fiction I was already planning on writing stories for every game the Hero of Legend appears in but since Link’s Awakening is the last game he appears in and we don’t know what happened to him after he was floating on a barrel in the ocean. So I thought I could add the CD-I games to his story. Though I’m not going to follow their plot as close as I’m currently doing with ALTTP. Instead I’m going to loosely follow their plots and rework a lot of the story. Though this is a future project so there’s a lot to figure out until then. But that’s my plan and brief explanation for why I’m even thinking about doing this

Beside You

I have just checked in Procreate, I found out I have spent 29 hours and 21 minutes on this. And I would most likely spend more if I Zelda hashtag was not trending on twitter today.

Beside You is a very emotional illustration for me. I once was browsing the youtube and listening to Zelda OST. Then under the Hyrule Castle soundtrack I read a comment:

"In some parts of this song, you can hear what sounds like marching, as if the spirits of the Hyrulian soldiers that died in the Great Calamity are marching beside Link as he storms Hyrule Castle" 

And I was like, woah! This needs to be done.

It started only with a sketch idea in my trustry sketchbook:

It’s really fun looking at the sketch now, because you can see how much detail went into the planning of the characters.

I have read a fanfiction by CM, One Last Year (oh my god, if you are even a tiny bit in love with botw as much as I am, go check it out!)

I was very much inspired by the story. I really wanted to depict Groose, who was Link’s friend and a knight. On the Link’s left, I wanted to portray Misko, a Sheikah bard who was Link’s rival. He was in love with the princess and is thought to be Kass’s teacher!

I did the sketches in procreate, defining what I wanted to be where and stuff.

It took me just about 2 weeks to finish this piece, with occasional breaks.

Did you do the shrine quest where you have to undress yourself during a blood moon and found it as weird as i have? xD

Doodled something in the morning in like 30 min before I went to school. I then spent like 10 minutes in Latin class adding bits and bobs instead of actually paying attention. Pretty rough I know, but I just did this for a meme
