The Best Reaction

You ever feel like Chase or Jack in the fan lore? Boy, I did.

Long story short, the whole 'Forgotten, or too afraid to remember?' Has been my favorite quote because mainly it's too real. We all have things we'd rather forget, you know? Those of you who know me personally know that I'd rather forget a lot of the shit in my life.

My girlfriend @sarahphoenix617 and I were watching Umfend because we were kinda spoiled because someone reblogged the glitch timestamps.

Now. I'm someone whom has seen shit both inrl and I just love horror as a genre. So to jumpscare me is a feat. To get me scared from a game/video? Impossible. Or... So I thought.

It was towards the end of the video and I was watching Jack in and out. During the first October I watched Jack, I would watch the camera because I didn't understand Anti. (I also figured his name was Anti on my own before the Anti Left hint. I didn't interact with the fandom or even follow Jack)

We hit the outro and Sarah says, "I think there's one in the sequence after the outro. Sometimes they're there, too."

The only Anti glitch to actually scare me in October was the "Hi, my name is Jack." And smile-glitches. Don't know why it just. Triggered a 'do not want' in my head.

So naturally, I started feeling anxious, sitting there and watching Sam bob around the tank.

I could feel it coming. My head lowered, my eyes started to bug. I felt my adrenaline started to run-

"Do you remember?"

I felt like something popped in my chest. And before Sarah could finish saying, "There it is", I quite literally YELLED, "NO!"

And then I smiled.

A big, tooth bearing smile.

Because I was scared, and my brain literally went to the primal part of my mind where it said, "You're scared. Bare your teeth and look menacing at the threatening thing. You're tough!" While also saying more reasonably "look at you. Being scared of a video! Being scared of Anti asking you a question! He's not real! He can't hurt you. You know Jack just plays the lore up a lot!"

And then, a small, tiny voice that almost didn't sound like my mental dialogue asked,

"What did you forget? Did I forget something?"

And then I thought about it. Did I forget something?

After a moment, I laughed to myself and started up Jack's video with Granny. All the while in my head and chuckling,

"Anti got me good. I hope he can manage to scare me again. I don't know what I'm forgetting, because I'm definitely not forgetting him, but I want to be reminded. I'm forgetful."

Also it was all at 3 am because scary videos are scariest in the dead of night.

Yeah dude, it’s a mix between MMA/ street fighting and Muay Thai. Oh and Philippino is what I’m actually grading in, so that too I guess, But yeah I just. I love martial arts, I’ve always wanted to be a Black Widow type character ever since I was like 5. Most kids dreamed of getting relationships or being cool, I dreamed about jumping out of cars and beating up bad guys. I actually enjoy getting scars and cuts because I feel like they are victory marks? It infuriates the fuck out of my mum cuz she’s like ‘Gee those bruises look ugly!’ and I’m like ‘they are UGLY and GLORIOUS EVIDENCE OF MY HARDINESS IN BATTLE, MOTHER’ which I actually say because I’m British and we all talk like Thor.
