Here's the full picture. (Wallpaper-ish versions below the cut in case you're as mentally ill about this as I am)
Matsuda: When I lost Junko at a party I found her hooking up with a girl in the next room.
Matsuda: Last night when I lost Izuru at another party, I found him alone eating buffalo chicken dip straight out of the crock pot.
Matsuda: Upgrades.
im officially on the itinerary for the film exhibition that i mentioned a while back!
I refuse to tag this cuz its horribly ooc and ugly as hell but consider: tiny life size ahiru
I read one of your posts about Monoka and the unpopular opinion piqued my interest. So I wanted to know why you think Junko's writing is shallow and lazy.
It’s intentional for one thing that she’s a shallow villain. Kodaka literally says he designed Junko with no real backstory (though you can potentially glean one from looking at Mukuro and Matsuda’s backstories; but even then a loooot of shit is vague) and with no deeper reason for thinking and acting the way she does. She’s just evil for evil’s sake. And most people agree on that.
Now for the first game, that’s perfectly fine and even fitting because the message is “always have hope even in the face of turmoil and don’t back down even when things are uncertain and/or looking anything but promising”. Which I’ve said before in this post which…also goes to kind of explain why I think so lowly of Junko’s writing even as I think she’s a perfectly fine villain in the first game and even the second to an extent.
So, um, yeah. That post pretty much answers your question, I think.
That she’s increasingly portrayed as OP after dr1 (where she’s very fucking fallible) is also a big reason in why her writing is lazy as shit. Just because she has to succeed doesn’t mean shit has to be convenient and easy for her, Kodaka, you fucking hack. >:T
you know what’s interesting?
i’m at episode 11 of Luke Cage, and they haven’t...
even though they have mentioned other superheroes, they rarely say their names, or even field names.
it’s “the green monster”, the “big blonde dude with the hammer”, “the old dude with the shield”. it’s Tony Stark, yeah, but he’s been along long before Iron Man was. also, it’s “that woman in hell’s kitchen that snapped that man’s neck cause he was mindcontrolling her”. and “that cat that’s kicking people’s asses in hell’s kitchen” (yes, Matt is just a big kitty)
but they’ve mentioned Wilson Fisk and Frank Castle by name. both villains (don’t start arguing with me about The Punisher, he did start off by being a villain and that’s what the world knows anyway)
I wonder why that is.
cause superheroes are forgettable but villains are not?
because its easier to remember what you fear?
I wonder.
What. The. Fuck.
