something about buckandeddie deliberately keeping stuff from each other in order to be able to see the surprise and delight on the other’s face in person. buck making up a whole new person, freddie fakeman, so eddie wouldn’t know buck was his renter before buck got to tell him himself. and eddie leaving a note he knew would make buck think he left for el paso, just so he could surprise him with their son. and do that silly little "when did i say that?" joke. i hate them.
