What I feel like the current state of the Kpop and Tpop industries are like right now...
KPOP: Dating bans in effect. You must appear eternally single and available. Don’t even be SEEN near a girl! Doesn’t matter that we make you into a thirst trap, absolutely no physical intimacy is allowed. Unless it’s tightly controlled fan service with your group mates. Cause of course LGBTQ+ idols don’t actually exist we just need to play to the fans. We might even put you in a BL to try and get extra hype, but as soon as the promotions are done, pretend it never happened.
TPOP: You’re dating your co-star and permanently off the market. Be constantly glued to your partner and as public as possible. Livestreams, fanmeets, romantic photoshoots, the whole works. Make sure you look as queer as possible, but never confirm anything. And be careful around women because heaven forbid you hint you might be straight and upset the fanservice. Also doesn’t matter if you were an actor first, congrats you’re now an idol. But make sure you keep doing BL and promote it like your life depends on it. Feed the thirst traps, kiss him, touch, him mount him on stage!
