So, 5 or 6 days ago, an English teacher of my school called me saying that she wanted me to write something on a topic and asking whether it will be alright by me. Well, since I am pretty good at writing and stuff and that teacher have recommended me in many competitions, I said yes, even with exams on my head (because I thought it would be for a competition)
She told me to send her the essay in 3-4 days and I got to work. She did not give me any details except for the topic and the category. Nothing. Not even word limit.
Even so, I got to work. I didn't want to disappoint her with my writing so I spent time to perfect my essay. Grammar, nice words, sophisticated phrases etc. When I was finally done, I asked her for the word limit and she told me at most 400. I was wayy off the limit but did not know what to cut out. So I asked her to help me out and sent her the essay.
TODAY I read a circular sent by one of the teacher in the Google Classroom about a creative writing competition that is for students, teachers and parents.
I read the circular and guess what?!
The topic for which I wrote the essay was in the TEACHERS CATEGORY!
THAT GIRL MADE ME DO HER WORK WITHOUT TELLING ME! (I am trying hard not to be disrespectful, but getting tricked into spending 3 days writing an essay WHILE PREPARING FOR EXMAS is BIG DEAL)
I swear to God I am so fed up. I help teachers all the time but this is uncalled for. Usually they just tell me BUT SHE KEPT ME IN DARK. I am soo angry. I swear she will face my ire when I confront her tomorrow.
Because even if it is done and it probably helped me to develop my writing skills, I just can't let go. NO ONE. I REPEAT NO ONE gets to trick me.
I would have gladly wrote the essay if she just told me...
PS: Don't mind any mistakes, I am writing this at 2 AM, high on anger.
This was written 4 months ago but I never got the chance to post it... Guess Shikamaru Week is a suitable time to do it so here you are...
WARNING: I suck at angst and at writing... Sorrynotsorry

Ever since Naruto became Hokage, Shikamaru got busier in the office and
was barely home anymore. Both Shikadai and Temari understand why he isn’t home so much anymore but it’s frustrating when Shikamaru finally gets to go home, he would be stuck in his office as well.
After the Chunin exam, Naruto often goes home at night which means Shikamaru has more work to do for him while Naruto takes his days off, though whenever he’s finally home after a long week of work, he barely spends time with his wife and son. Today was the breaking point of Temari and Shikadai can feel the tension between his parents.
“Nara Shikamaru!” Temari snarled, her arms crossed against her chest with Shikadai standing beside her, looking at her nervously while Shikamaru sits on the porch, puffing in his smoke “What do you think you’re doing?”
“What do you think? Smoking while enjoying my day off” Shikamaru grumbled, a bit annoyed
“You’re home for the first time in a month and this is how you’re going to spend your time?” Temari growled “Do you not care for your son and wife? You’ve been in the office doing works nonstop!” She raised her voice “Naruto got to go home and spend more time with his family. Why can’t you do the same? Instead of sitting around, smoking your butt off”
“It’s not my fault I have to do his paperwork for him, woman!” Shikamaru burst and Shikadai widened his eyes, calling his mother a woman is a first for him. He knew how his parents always bicker but that’s how they show affections to each other, just not like this. Today was different.
“Then why did you?”
“I’m the only one who can do it!” He sighed, standing up “If no one does it, top secret information will be leaked and our village will be in danger. I cannot let that happen! I’m the only one who’s responsible enough to do it!” He shouted and it surprised both Temari and Shikadai greatly, that shouting was totally unnecessary. Shikadai took a glance at his mother, trying to read her face for any reactions. All he got was nothing
“K-Kaa-chan?” He blinked
“Y-You’re yelling at me now huh?” Her voice breaking, trying to sound tough but it doesn’t seem to work “Don’t you think taking some time off and spend time with us will be better? Shikadai misses spending time with you, you know...”
“Can’t do” Shikamaru shook his head and sit back down, turning his back to her
“So you’re saying you don’t care about us?” Temari dropped her head, her voice low
“Go back to Suna for all I care… I have work to do” Shikamaru grumbles “You just ruined my day off”
“Fine then” Temari sounds defeated “I’ll pack my bags and return to Suna. I won’t disturb you anymore” She turned and quickly walked away, past her son, not taking a glance back. Her eyes wet and her lips clenched together
“K-Kaa-chan?” Shikadai stuttered and heard the door slamming. Shikadai blinked, not believing what just happened in front of him. He took a glance at Shikamaru to see him sitting on the porch, puffing in more smoke, not giving a care in the world
“Troublesome woman…” Shikamaru shook his head then stood up and walked down onto his yard, walking away to who knows where
“Kaa-chan won’t really be…” Shikadai turned back up and went upstairs. He quickly froze, hearing sounds that he never thought would exist in someone like his mother, the sound of crying that’s coming out from his parents’ room. A side of Temari he has never seen before in his 12 years of living. Shikadai knows Temari never shows her weak side to anyone, it was rare enough to get a smile from her yet now hearing her crying was something Shikadai wouldn’t believe it belongs to his mother. “Kaa-chan…” His voice cracked and reached for the door, wanting to go in and comfort her but he got no courage to. Sighing in defeat, he sat down next to the door, staring at the wall “What a drag… Why did oyaji even…” He mumbled as he think back to the arguments his parents had. Though each had good points, Temari was right. Shikamaru was ignoring his family to help out someone else’s family and that’s not right. Shikadai misses spending time with his father, training or even getting beaten in shogi. He doesn’t care, he just wants to spend time with his father, just like how Boruto wished to spend time with his own father. After a bit of thinking, Shikadai stand back up and turn to the door, holding his hand up into a fist “Kaa-chan…” He knocked on the door, hearing the sob stop “I… I’m here if you need me…” He mumbled weakly, hoping to get his message across. He needed help right now, he doesn’t know how to approach this situation. He doesn’t want his family to split so all Shikadai can do now is to give emotional support to his mother but no reply came out.

It’s been well over half a day since the fight had occurred. Shikadai didn’t have lunch, he is starving but he didn’t care about that right now, his eyes glued at the door, waiting to see when Temari will go out. Shikamaru has been missing since but that wasn’t on his mind right now, his mother’s well being is his top priority.
“What a drag” He scratched his head as he head over to his window, opening it and climb out. He jumped onto the roof and walk over to the other side of the house and he walk down the wall, sitting on the roof next to his parents’ room window. He took a peek inside to see Temari sitting on her futon, rolled up in a ball, arms hugging her legs with her head resting on her knees, her back facing the door so Shikadai can see her side profile; eyes are swollen from crying so much and Shikadai can tell, Temari is heartbroken. “Kaa-chan…” He wanted to just barge in and comfort her but noticed the door opening and Shikamaru appeared at the entrance,
“Temari…” Shikamaru walked over as Temari flinched but ignore him. Shikamaru sighed and scratched his head “Look… I’m sorry, I said too much with things that I shouldn’t have said... ” Shikamaru began, his eyes wander the room but her “I didn’t mean them, I was just too stressed out and wasn’t thinking about my words” He sighs and turns to her nervously “What I said before… I’m sorry... I was dumb... I’m really sorry for not spending much time as I used to with you and Shikadai. I was so caught up with work and with Naruto wanting his days off with his family, I forgot about my own” He stated and head towards Temari, scratching his head in nervousness “I really am sorry Tem…” He apologized again, scanning her for any reaction. Temari took a deep breath but she won’t look at him so he continued “I promise, I’ll get a day off and maybe we can go on a vacation?” He suggested “The beach or anywhere. We can spend time as a family. I’ll stop Shikadai’s missions as well. We can get a week off and do anything we want” He claimed, “We can return to Suna and visit your brothers as well, it’s been a long time hasn’t it?”
“You promise?” She whispered and Shikamaru then sit down beside her, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into a hug that she very much needed
“I promise… I know I can’t take back the words I have said and I know they hurt you but… I’ll do my best to fix my mistake” He declared and Temari buried her face onto his chest, returning the gesture as she relaxed in his warmth
“Alright then…” She whispered and Shikamaru’s lips then form into a wide grin, glad he was forgiven
“Guess they made up” Shikadai grinned and jump back onto the rooftop. He doesn’t remember the last time he saw his parents showing affections to each other like that. Guess they're just too proud to be all lovey-dovey in front of him “At least kaa-chan isn’t crying anymore...” He smirked and lay on the roof, looking at the sky, wondering what his parents were talking about. He closed his eyes, exhaustion took over him, he felt drained and fell asleep. He wasn’t sure how long he was out until he heard his father’s voice
“So this is where you were” Shikamaru mumbled as Shikadai shifted and opened his eyes to see Shikamaru standing in front of him, looking down “Why are you out here?”
“A-Ah… To get some fresh air I guess”
“I’m sorry Shikadai…” Shikamaru started “For those words that I said… You saw and heard everything didn’t you...” He sighed and sat down beside Shikadai “I was too stressed out that I didn’t watch I was saying…”
“Well...” Shikadai think for a bit, looking down “I did hear some unpleasant things that I wished I would never hear...” He admitted then stare at his hands “And you disappearing like that... I thought you hated kaa-chan and wanted to chase her away...”
“I had to go to the forest to clear my mind… I’m sorry” His father explained “I already talked to your mother, I’m going to ask for some days off and for you as well. Then our family go out for a little vacation” He grinned, turning to his son and Shiakdai couldn’t stop himself from breaking into a huge smile
“R-Really?” Shikadai gasped, he doesn’t remember the last time the three of them went out on a vacation. Has to be at least years ago before Shikamaru wasn’t too busy with work. The word ‘vacation’ is almost too foreign to him and the family.
“Of course! I want to spend time with my family as well. Naruto can’t be the only who gets to laze around in his home” Shikamaru smirked

Thank you for reading :] I am quite disappointed with how this has turned out. I have reread it so many times but don’t know what or how to change xD
