Well I ate too much at the party.
Plus 5 Andes mint chocolates.
Kinda got stuffed. Lots of chips and Buffalo dip
Worked out afterwards.

WELL.
I was INCREDIBLY anxious a lot of the time.
Nearly the entire time.
But I went to Open Sketch at a gallery.
They had COLLAGE supplies, special for the month of February. AND hiding among all the cute cat photos and retro graphics etc, I found the liner for a cassette copy of The Doors’ album, Strange Days.
SO I went to town on that. And then drew a freaky dude I saw peering out at me, in the shapes of a damask-printed piece of scrapbooking paper.
They also had cake and cupcakes and coffee. Probably had more coffee than is wise, at night. Alors.
AND I ran into someone from management of a small business I used to work for, and we caught up.
And the woman who checked me in so they can track engagement, recognized me from art shows, even if she thought “maybe Melissa” but then asked me my first name.
Second time in less than a week that I’ve been called Melissa, by mistake. 😂 But I don’t mind. Names can be tricky. Faces are much easier. And I dated a Melissa.
I did a thing. I was twitchy and self-conscious, and laughed nervously. But I persevered. And strolled the gallery show, before I left.
Jimbo, and by extension, David and the boys, approve. Gonna have to give that album a listen. Lotta good songs!!!
I actively sought out a social situation with like minded people. I went to a DSA teachers meeting to discuss radical pedagogy. It was nice? I’ve never been good at social situations or try to make friends but I liked it! There was a meeting after it in a library nearby about newly proposed laws that affect (not in a good way) trans youth so I went to it as well to stay informed and see what I could do. It turned out really well too! I might have more resources for some of my kids and might have helped somewhat at one point by pointing out one of the proposed laws might be a violation of FERPA and could potentially be held up due to it.
