Six Sentence Sunday
“This is from the test batch.” Robin confides in a low tone to Eddie. “Steve is pretty happy with how they turned out, so they’ll probably make an appearance Tuesday.”
The look on her face as she eats it seems too R rated for this high school cafeteria. For it, and the fact that he’s pretty sure she’s being dramatic to pain Henderson, Robin has Eddie’s eternal respect.
“I still don’t believe Harrington can cook,” he says to the rest of Hellfire.
i am sure my random posts and tags sometimes are making zero sense but i will elaborate eventually
Happy Storyteller Saturday! Rambling time! Tell us something about an oc or WIP that you rarely get to ramble about!
Happy (late) STS!!! I’m not sure how I missed this yesterday, my bad!! But if you’re giving me permission to ramble...
So, there’s a series of wips that I have that I affectionately call the ‘werewolf district’ and have filed under ‘werewolves ‘verse’ in my google drive. You may or may not have seen me use the tag “for werewolf reasons”, which is the catch-all tag for that universe - because this ‘wip’ is actually five wips in a trenchcoat.
The idea is that in a fictional version of Colorado, there’s a place deep in the mountains is the Silverwood Forest. Situated around said forest are a few towns - including Watcher’s Grove and Riverside, which are sort of two sides of the same coin with Watcher’s Grove being ‘the wrong side of the tracks’ and Riverside being a more uptown type of place, all of which have a werewolf problem; Lux Hollow, a town with a banshee problem a few hours away from Watcher’s Grove with a sort of boarding house for troubled teens between the two; and then a third town whose name I can’t find but is home to Hyland Academy and also the farthest separated from the other two which has a witchy problem. And then, right smack in the middle of the forest itself is Silverwood City - the place where Happy Endings takes place!
Now, the fun thing about Silverwood City is that it’s a full city, but it’s completely separated from the rest of the world because the Argyris family - the city’s initial founding family who are up to their noses in secrets - takes the financial burden of the entire city upon themselves, so they don’t have any major corporations or anything like that within the city. No McDonald’s, no Kum & Go, not even a Waffle House. They also don’t celebrate the commercialized holidays. Sure, if you’re majorly religious you may celebrate the appropriate holidays, but either on top of that or in place of that, the city goes wild for all of the solstices and equinoxes. The forest is also respected above all else, and there are few pets because they view themselves as encroaching on the animals’ territory - the only vet in town, actually, is directly connected to the animal rehabilitation center on the edge of town. Basically, thanks to the Argyris influence, Silverwood has a whole culture unto itself.
So, you’ve got the Watcher’s Grove/Riverside wip, the Lux Hollow wip, the Hyland Academy wip, and Happy Endings wip, all taking place close to the same time - technically, I believe Happy Endings takes place a few years before the other three. So what’s the fifth wip? Well, that’s the series that all of these lead to - a story currently titled devil may care, which takes place many years after those other four and does not take place in/near Silverwood forest, although it is still connected. Oh, and it ropes vampires and fairies into the equation on top of the werewolves and witches!
TLDR: if you see me tag something as “for werewolf reasons” it is for a wip that is really five wips in a trenchcoat that also involves banshees and witches and vampires. Also, the wips are always evolving and multiplying so. Basically, I am drowning.
