Very annoyed right now. Cause I know audiences and fans can be toxic. But I’m still gonna complain about things never being “enough” for hatin’ ass losers.
When Namping was revealed to be Khem; the popular character from the already popular novel that Khemjira was; some people complained that he wasn’t “cute” enough. They said he was too masculine; and they couldn’t picture him as this character.
Now that it’s out; and success is booming. KengNamping well underway. People want someone else to be paired with Keng because Namping is now TOO “cutesy” and “feminine”, or not “hot”enough.
And I KNOW it’s mostly different groups of people. But it stems from a similar issue, and I just want everyone to shut the hell up. Particularly in relation to Namping; and him not being “enough” whether it’s about a character or not being “good enough” to be Keng’s partner. He is a fantastic actor, he works his butt off, he thinks deeply about his craft, he’s fun, and he’s attractive too (though that’s the least important thing I know).
And it goes without saying, Keng is absolutely awesome. His acting, his face card, his personality. Everything, he’s a cool dude. He deserves the amount of attention he’s getting. They both do. But the level of just looking down on Namping and disrespecting/disregarding him like they aren’t on the same “level” is tiring. I know Keng sure as hell isn’t here for it. Especially in consideration to them choosing to be partners; and Keng already stating how much Namping being there for him means to him in even the day to day.
I also know Namping is a tough cookie; he knows his worth. He has never let people shading him, or being rude, dull his shine. He is also aware of the homophobia permeating many of the criticisms both him, Keng, and Khemjira have gotten. Like he knows not to give it time of day. But man do I just wanna slap people still; for the mere disrespect.
