There's been so much good Dracula Daily meta about Lucy studying her expressions in the mirror, and her complicated feelings about performing a social role that's expected of her...
But also, in light of certain past and future events, I kind of love that our introduction to her goes like "This is Lucy Westenra. If there's one thing you should know about this girl, it's that she has a visible reflection."
Hmmm
HMMMMMMM
You know what you get when you mix Vanessa and Charlie's names together?
Vannie.
Ok so, what I got from Thomas and the sides realising Virgil was around even before appearing to them, when looking back in WIDS. Is that a side that's either not fully formed or realised/recognised, isn't visible to Thomas (and possibly the other sides) in the moment, but they can still feel their influence. And that they're visible in retrospect.
So what if I say orange...
After reading the Jedi Academy trilogy and now halfway through I, Jedi...
The idea that ANYONE calls Rey a Mary Sue or takes issue with Sabine managing one Force push, is not only puzzling, but straight up LAUGHABLE.
I mean, seriously, please tell me what the difference is between Rey and Sabine's situations/abilities, and a few novice Jedi students maybe 2 months into their training being able to take on and defeat a Sith Lord that had required the entire Jedi Order to initially defeat him? One of those novice students being able to heal Mon Mothma from a new disease when literally nothing else could? That's not even mentioning a 2 year old being able to hold his own with a lightsaber against dark creatures with only his disembodied uncle guiding him... And don't get me started on Corran, or Kyp for that matter...
Let me be clear, I have absolutely NO issue with the Jedi students in Legends novels learning how to hone their abilities and use the Force so quickly.
My point is: if they can do it, so can Rey and Sabine!
