Private Selection® Frozen Foods Bzzcampaign
This is a review of Private Selection® Frozen Foods for a Bzzcampaign for BzzAgent. This campaign came with five $2 off coupons, an oven mitt, a Bzzguide explaining what is a part of the Bzzcampaign, and an email saying that your Kroger's (or Ralph's, Dillons', King Soopers', Hilander's, Smith's, Baker's, Fry's, City Market's, Scott's, or Fred Meyer's) card is loaded with the free coupons that one can use to participate in this Bzzcampaign. I unfortunately had to wait a few days to receive the coupons in physical form since Ralph's said that the coupon were not in my Ralph's card. As usually, pictures will be posted at the end each entry and the end of the review.

The first item I tried was the Northern Spy Apple Crisp and the box came with two plastic cups filled the product that you can either cook in the oven or the microwave. Since my oven was broken, I cooked it in the microwave. The direction said to cook it in a few seconds (50-65, to be exact), but since my microwave is ancient, it took 2-3 minutes to be warm. I gave one of the cups to my mom. We ate one half by itself and the other side with vanilla ice cream (The box recommended in doing so).
My mom said the product tasted homemade, the apples inside the crisp tasted fresh, and the whole thing was quite moist. In my opinion, the crisp was moist and the apples inside was tangy and sweet at the same, yet it fitted well with the sweetness and cinnamon flavor of the crust on top of the crisp. The flavor was enhanced by the smoothness of the vanilla ice cream.

The Northern Spy Apple Crisp was so good that my mother decided to try the chocolate lava cakes. The box contains four Belgian chocolate lava cakes in individual trays. While waiting for my mom to get home one day, I microwaved one of the cakes and the room filled with chocolaty goodness. When the microwave ringed, I placed the cake upside on a plate like the instructions said.
The chocolate sauce flowed out like a volcano when I put my fork into it. I absolutely liked it, it was moist and each mouthful was chocolaty. When my mom returned, she microwaved one for herself. The one that she picked, however, lack the chocolate sauce that mine had. Nevertheless, she said it tasted like a freshly made moist chocolate cake. The second one that she consumed had the lava sauce and she said it tasted better.

The next item that I tried was the Southwestern Style Chicken Trumpets. As soon as I open the box and removed the plastic, I could smell the peppers coming from the food. As I said before, the microwave was the only method that I was able to use in order to warm up food. I shared the trumpets with my mom and we ate it with some hot sauce. Before I took a couple bites with the hot sauce, I tried it without it. I was kinda disappointed, for it was not as flavorful as I thought it would be. It was kinda bland, to be honest. With the hot sauce, however, it tasted delicious. The Chicken Trumpets had the right amount of cheese and it was generous with the chicken slices inside. My mom said the taste was okay.

The last item that the Bzzcampaign provided was the pizza. The pizza flavor we chosen was the Fire Roasted Vegetable. Even though the instruction said to put it in an oven, we microwaved it like the other food items. It smells so delicious even before we put it in the microwave. Unlike the Chicken Trumpets, however, the pizza was full of flavor. My mom said it tasted like a vegetarian lasagna. I agree, it did tasted like a lasagna with a crust. The peppers on the pizza made the flavor really pop. My mom ate the pizza in her usual way: she added hot sauce and ranch dressing on the side. She thoroughly enjoyed herself while eating.

As for recommendations, I totally recommend trying the Private Selection® Northern Spy Apple Crisp, the Chocolate Lava Cakes, and the Fire Roasted Vegetable pizza. It was a delight to dine on the flavors that was offered. Even after this Bzzcampaign, I will definitely try these food items again.
