Lyr

13: Describe your OC’s living situation.

Prior to the Martyr Queen, Lyr and Ava were living on the road. Occasionally, they would stop in various old libraries, ruins, archives, and other places, but for the most part, they lived out of their bags and on the road. Not long into the Martyr Queen, however, they join Talitha on her ship. 

17: How does your OC do during the zombie apocalypse?

[Assuming a modern AU...] Lyr has always had a fascination with swords, and took fencing as soon as he was able to. Fighting wise, he’s fine. He also used to help Ava garden, knows how to sew and cut hair, and has always enjoyed working with his hands, so he’s fairly good at repairing and building things. As long as he had people around to supplement what he didn’t know, I think he’d do fairly well, honestly!

Talitha

13: Describe your OC’s living situation.

Talitha lives on a pirate ship, which she built herself. (With a seed, a violin, and a bit of magic. Or, well, a lot of magic.) As captain, she stays in the captain’s quarters, which are well furnished. When you first come in, there’s a bit of a raised area with shelves and a table. This table is usually covered in maps, but can be cleared off for eating if need be.

Off the platform, there’s a double bed complete with canopy; a desk; more bookshelves; and lots and lots of other paraphernalia. Mostly pillows and books, though.

17: How does your OC do during the zombie apocalypse?

[Assuming a modern AU...] Talitha has always had a knack for figuring out how things work--taking them apart and then putting them back together again. Sometimes even making them run better than before. She also took fencing with Lyr and reads anything she can get her hands on, so she’s armed with plenty of knowledge. She knows rudimentary first aid, too.

Trouble is, she can also be easily distracted, especially when confronted with something she wants to study. As long as she has people to watch her back, she’s fine! Otherwise, it’s a little bit more of a 50/50.

Least favorite oh man. Uhhhhh. I really don’t write characters I hate, though I do write plenty whose morals or choices I would never approve of morally. Let’s go with Rafe, from Lady of Ashes though since he does the most assholish betrayals in the story and needs some development.

family: All deceased. A mother, a father, and a younger sister Celia, who was nine years younger than he is, and ten years old when she died.

birthplace: A tiny, nearly-forgotten and now-destroyed village named Luire

job: Originally, Plague doctor’s apprentice. Then, footman for a low-ranking nobleman’s estate. Now, exile and apostate.

phobias: Fire, the dark, heights, and fabrichats. All cats, really, but those ones are deadly.

guilty pleasures: Chocolate, especially bitter chocolate. He also really likes fine shoes, having never had a pair growing up, and is particularly skilled at making perfumes from his past as a doctor’s apprentice, where the tradition of filling the masks with good scents is still followed, even if germs and bacteria have been discovered by now.

morality alignment?: True Neutral bordering on Lawful Evil. He started out as lawful/neutral good but the years serving La Maitresse (the big bad) has warped his viewpoint and morals so that he does just about anything he cares to do so long as it doesn’t go against anything LM has ordered.
